Well then, I don't feel so bad since you lost the 28 pounds!  Page 13 is about when you find out that Dr. Atkins had a sense of humor.

We'll miss you while your gone to visit your family.  I always say, "My family may be dysfunctional, but we're not boring!"

ooooh spank me Mistress Mary!!!!! you dirty *****LOL

I read the truest article recently in Readers Digest - how all the fad diets (scuse the term or get out that nipple whip for later) have truly homogenized. Atkins had expanded and allowed more of the evil sugars/grains; WW has the core program; Pritikin has finally admitted that healthy fats should be included. and so on.

You are very correct when you state that it is a formula plan - the whole hocus pocus about ketosis is valid..and it works for many people.  For a while. Then a body gets to where it WILL find a way to convert food to carbs and stop being as efficient in ketone burning/conversions. On top of the fact that most people will not stay stictly on plan for more than most other diet plans - oh 6 weeks outside.

Your most valuable statement: do what works.  When these folks stop losing, they may be forced to see it your way and be as purist off and on.

I very much admire you in all ways, PS, my post is not to shoot you down.  keep on wid your bad self.

Woman, I ain't spankin' you...you'd enjoy it entirely too much! Brows

Neecee, I know you weren't shooting me down.  I never take discussions about Atkins personally because there is so much misinformation about the program out there that over thirty years, the facts have gotten a little skewed.  And so much of what is controversial is the Induction phase.  Most people don't take into account that Induction is only for two weeks.  If I thought I was never going to eat nuts or a piece of fruit again in my life, I would never do Atkins either.  And true ketosis is only for Induction, so yes you go back to burning carbs when you start adding them back in.

And I ain't gonna lie...Atkins ain't for everybody!  It's harder than hell and you have to learn the program to do it correctly.  But for people who are truly insulin resistant, it's worth the time to do it right.
