I admit to the peanut butter, but I don't care.  I need the sweetness or I'll go insane.

Slow me down a bit, whoop de do.

I LOVE the Atkins carmel nut chew bars...tastes just like a candy bar! Only 2 net carbs, but I'm kinda confused on how they figure that. I thought net carbs was total carbs-dietary fiber. but my bars have 17g total carbs and only 6g dietary fiber... so how do they figure 2 net carbs??

Subtract the sugar alcohols.  And Indulge bars are for after Induction.  All of the rest are allowed on Induction.

Be careful not to eat more than one a day because they are processed and WILL slow down your weight loss.  Just sayin'.

What about natural organic almond butter?  It's not sweet though, because its just your basic nut.  Is that legal?  Maybe try it with  a splenda or something??  lol  Just a thought.  if you seriously want me to try a tiny bit with splenda in it to see how it works let me know and I'll try it, because mine is alllll almond butter.

Personally I appreciate your honestly. I admit some of the things on my list are a NO NO, but I thought that as long as I was under 20 carbs I would be alright. I was naughty and drifted off the list, I tried to use what I had in the house (Which wasnt much). But I will make sure to follow the list because I want the maximum results. Thank you for waking me up!Alarm Clock

Youze is more than welcome.  Here's the deal.  When you see someone like Heather who is pulling huge numbers, I don't want you to get discouraged because you aren't.  Especially when it can be so easily remedied.  At least you aren't giving me grief like some other little brat around here who shall remain nameless!  She knows who she is.  Bouncing Heart

And you bring up a good point about dieting whether it's Atkins or any other plan...it is VITAL to have your food available at all times so it's easier not to be tempted to eat something you shouldn't.  I say diet and exercise is like having a second job.  Sucks doesn't it?

Hey, Mary....I met the man I plan to grow old with (heck, we're in the process now) on the internet also!!  Not my husband....decided at this stage of life we don't need the legalities, but we've been happily together for 3 years now.  It works, but boy, I kissed a lot of frogs in the process!

As for the Atkins....sure wish I had the guts to try it.  I do lose weight better on low carb and the first week of my Wendy Chant thing was similar to induction, but can't seem to stick with it and my doctor gets livid when I even suggest it.  I know....should have him talk to you and Jerz!  Maybe after the holidays I'll give it a try.  Right now I'm doing nothing (as you can tell from my meals).  Reality check time coming once again....disgusted and discouraged....with myself...know what to do, just choosing not to do it.  I am doing it without guilt this time which don't know if it's better or worse but at least I'm not binging.  Hope you all don't mind  my sticking around on here when I'm not even making an attempt at the moment.  I'll get my act together sooner or later....unfortunately later is approaching quickly.

Well Jeeze Sherrie, I hope you and Holly don't think that I think there is anything wrong with internet relationships...I just don't think that this girl should put all of her hopes and dreams on this particular frog!  Frog Kiss

I think a lot of problems that doctors have with Atkins is Induction, when your body is in heavy ketosis and VERY low carb.  But that only lasts for two weeks and then you start adding back more variety of foods and more carbs, and then by the time you are ready for maintenance, you are eating the way you should for the rest of your life.  But if I were a doctor, I would have a problem with someone staying on Induction long term.  Docs nowadays promote the Sonoma diet which is basically Atkins maintenance.  Maybe if you wanted to try Atkins, you could skip Induction and start directly on Ongoing Weight Loss.  You may not lose the big chunk at first, but at least you would be able to lose.

And woman, I cannot believe that you said that about us minding if you stick around even if you aren't on a diet.  EXCUSE ME, we would mind if you gave up on yourself and didn't come here to share what you are going through.  Being here is not about being perfect, it's about sharing our experiences with weight loss.  Up or down, good or bad, happy or sad about it.  That would be like me saying that Neecee and I shouldn't be here because we aren't losing any weight!
