This time next year...
Yup, decided I would do it part time. I've just had such amazing results in my capabilities and have members at my gym always asking for guidance, I decided it would be a good fit.
And going through another layoff recently (ah, but I got offered a job Thursday, yeah!), I decided having the certification would be a great fall back. Talked with a manager of trainers at my gym and I have an opportunity waiting for me.
I still have a way to go, but this could keep me straight.
I'm now a 12/14 top, 18 bottom, 16 dress....and generally wearing a misses XL and a woman's 1x is too big....
lbs have stalled, but size changes continue....
When I have my garage sale, man it will feel good to get rid of those 26/28s.
Jerze, your journey is an inspiration to us all and we are thrilled that you are going to become a personal trainer. Did you ever think that such a thing would even be a possibility in your future when you were wearing those size 28s? Talk about living out your fantasies! But you've worked hard for this and you deserve all of the best that life has to offer as your reward.
And don't be no whimpy trainer like Ruby has...I say go out and be a Jillian kind of bust your ass trainer.
I love it when she says, "Unless your puking, keep on walking!"
Mary
Thanks guys. It will be a long journey, I'm sure. One where I will learn a lot from my trainer who is half my age....Funny, that.
When I got laid off, she commented that it seemed I hated what I did for a living and that we only have one life to live. At first I was peeved--this girl doesn't understand the pressures of a mortgage and traditional business stresses. However, she was right in that we should do what we love while we can. So, not knowing a job was around the corner, I spent time thinking about what I wanted to be when I grew up, LOL. What did I love? I was a great teacher but couldn't afford to live on that salary and I love PT...hence the thought. I don't see it as a full-time venture, just a fulfilling one : )
