What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?

I am soooooo in the Christmas Spirit! StockingI have been putting out Christmas decorations in the house and I'm proud of the fact that my feet don't hurt.  I know that is a strange proud, but when I weighed over three hundred pounds, all of that climbing up and down the ladder to take down the drapes and put up the Christmas drapes, and putting the decorations at the top of the tree would have killed my feet.  Losing weight is a beautiful thing! Xmas Ball

I do not feel good about falling off the wagon today and ate everytime I wanted to, actually I am kicking myself for it. But I am getting back on tomarrow! I did shovel again today and took my kiddies to the christmas parade so I think I burned off some of the bad calories I engulfed today.You are so awesome Mary, so high spirited, you are such an inspiration !!! Awwe no, you fell off your wagon?  I hate when that happens!  But at least you can take this opportunity to examine what was going on in your head when you let this happen.  I know that you have been so psyched about your diet and your weight loss, so what was going on in your mind that you decided to give into bad calories.  And while your thinking about it, what are you going to do differently the next time this situation occurs?

One thing that helped me a lot was visualization.  I used to go to a hypnotherapy group for weight loss and the instructor taught us self hypnosis.  If we were going out to a buffet, before we left, I would close my eyes and visualize being surrounded by all of that food and try to physically feel the stress of wanting it all.  Then I would visualize exactly what I was going to eat and imagine myself eating that and being satisfied.  It's something that you have to practice to get good at, but it does help to take the pressure off if you've already thought about it ahead of time instead of being overwhelmed when you get there. 

Thank you for the kind words, but I ain't all that!  I lost my weight just like you are going to have to lose yours, flying without a net, holding on for dear life, and praying to God that I wouldn't fall!

Now get back on that damned wagon heffa and ride it like you mean it!!!

I think for some reason I got lazy today. And without even thinking about it I was snacking off the kids plates. I ate a grilled chicken sandwich with brocolli and cottage cheese for dinner, but after I got back from the parade I ate candy and then leftover mac-and cheese, OMG!!! What was I thinking!!!! Okay, I just need to get myself together and get back on tomarrow, and I will definitely do that visualizing suggestion. Writing out my what I am going to eat for the day has helped, I just let myself slip back into the old habits today. Thanks Mary!

Mindless snacking has done in many a dieter so if you are having a problem with it, you need to nip it in the bud NOW.  Start by making a conscience effort to be very aware of everything you are putting in your mouth, BEFORE it goes in your mouth.

And don't be eating anything you would not be proud to type on the daily food post!  Punch Computer

Having my SO's whole family for a holiday dinner on Sunday.  Tomorrow we are tied up with another party so today I made my cheesy potatoes, broccoli casserole, cranberry relish and applesauce spice cake with brown sugar frosting!  Also decorated the tree tonight (without snow) and put all the presents under it.

And my feet DO hurt, Mary!!
