What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud? Your Comfort Zone

I was watching Ruby last night and I have to say, I know why she's a li'l chubby.  She was working out with her trainer, which she has been doing for a while now and he was trying to get her to do something more than she is used to doing...and she refused to do it!  And he let her get away with it! Shocked I'm thinking in my head..."Get outta that Comfort Zone Woman!"  And what the hell kind of a trainer doesn't push you until you've moved to the next level?   He wuz a whoose.

But all of us here need to challenge ourselves to get out of our comfort zones.  Water that is not moving forward becomes stagnant.  We can't allow complacency to stop or slow our journeys.  If you're tired of your diet...try some new recipes.  If you're tired of your workouts, try something totally new and different a few days a week.  If your weight loss is slowing down, up the intensity of your workout.  This jouney gets harder the further down the road you get because your weight loss slows down and the road can get foggy and hard to navigate if you are not seeing the results you want to see.  You have to keep shaking things up.

This morning, I'm proud that I did my workout first thing.  For me, that is so far out of my comfort zone that I was fixin' to hurt someone.  I'm an absolute ***** in the morning!  But now, the next time I'm hating working out I'll be thinking, it could be worse, it could be 8am!

So do something different.  If you need assistance with a diet, see a nutritionist.  If you need medical help, find a competent doctor willing to actually help you.  If you need mental help, research a program that is right for the kind of help you need.  And if you're a couch potato, Couch Potato  get off of that damned sofa and workout after you make your salad!!!

Today, I'm proud I stayed on plan.  First few days of Atkin's are always hell and I'm proud I didn't sway.

For some reason, my first day back on Atkins always reminds me of that old spiritual...'You Got to Walk That Lonesome Valley'!  But it's part of life and you have to pass through the valley to get to the mountain top, no?  Dang, now I'm channeling Martin Luther King!

I'm way proud of you, too, Baby Girl!

Amen Mary!! You are full of gems of wisdom today!

Today I'm proud that I've resisted temptation for 3 days AT (after thanksgiving). I'm going out of my comfort zone by trying a new receipe for dinner. I got it off Atkins.com; creamy spinich soup. It sounds good, and even though I don't like a lot of veggies, I'm gonna try it! My goal is to try at least 2 new receipies a week! (and eventually, maybe I'll teach myself how to cook healthy!)

What a great attitude!  I'm like you when it comes to veggies. Gagging  But I eat a salad everyday and I cook with them as much as possible.  Yep, two recipes a week ought to help with learning to cook.  And if you need some help, feel free to ask the old broads for advice.  Uh huh, I know you and Stacey called me old!!! Rolly 1But that's OK, cuz I iz!

Do you like omelettes?  There are all kinds of things you can use to make fillings for omelettes...I love 'em and they are relatively easy to cook.

....Mary you're only as old as you feel...and judging by all the energy your posts have, you're younger than I am!!

Omelettes are ok, but I don't like the typical omelette veggies, like green peppers, onions, mushrooms...yuck! What do you put in them?? I was thinking I could make one with black olives, but I don't know if that would be good or what to put with it...??

Good form with your back peddling...very smoothe!

Fortunately, I have good genes.  Between the weight loss, exercise, plastic surgery (on the body, not the face ) and my good genes, my massage therapist refused to believe I'm a day over forty(I'm fifty-one).  I luvs that girl!

First of all, this is how I make the shell.  Put a pat of butter in a nonstick pan.  When the heat has bubbles add two whisked eggs, let cook on one side, add filling and flip in half.

Fillings:  Diced ham and cheese, crumbled bacon and cheese, Spanish omelet...crumbled ground chuck with tomatoes, hot peppers, Mexican omelet...Taco Bell hot sauce(0 carbs)comes in mild, too, ground chuck, jalepenos, I like spicy food, black olives, sour cream, and shredded cheese.  Fahita omelet...sliced beef with peppers and onions, I doubt that you would like that one.  Sausage omelet...Jimmy Dean precooked round sausage patties crumbled in Pace Chunky Salsa ( it has no sugar).  Well that's a start, I'll let you know what else I think of.

Heather, the veggie thing - i think of it of eating that food group like medicine - it is very good for us.  Greens, like spinach have made me feel more satisfied - try it! I first read about that in books from bulimia treatment facilities:  those foods in particular have vitamins that hit a deficiency so many fat peeps have!

Buy some different greens - try buying a bundle of fresh kale, for example.  Rinse off that bunch, let it air dry for a while, then stcik in it the freezer - whole leafs!  After it freezes, bust off the big pithy stems, and save back the leaves in a big ziplock bag.  Use it to throw into canned soup, or microwave it and eat with vinegar, salt, pepper.  Even if you have to gag it down at first, i know you will soon develop a taste, even a craving for it.

You can toss a handful into mary's awesome omelet - start a day with it and see for yourself! I have started out days when I wake up starving with that omelet idea with green in the middle and felt good to go for hours!

Eat it like it is saving your life!

What.. you were all working out?  No one had a date with a 6'7" 260 lb Irishman (complete with accent)?  OH. yea.. that was me! ;)  hahhahahha

I deserved Sunday and Monday off of working out and I'm PROUD that I recognize that.. although I must say I danced for hours on Saturday night until I was sopping wet...   and I know it's paying off..  especially when I got to hear an Irish accent say  "darlin' now walk a wee bit ahead of me because I so love to watch you walk love."  Thank goodness I didn't trip and fall on my face!

Hit 209 today.. but the 14's are getting big.. gotta keep pulling them up.. don't know how that's happening other than things are redistributing with all the working out.

And yes..  I went to the next level.  I dismissed my trainer for a month to strike out on my own so I could advance.  I feel he was holding me back.

Another right on post, Mary.. very well said and thought provoking.
