Why I 'NEED' Atkins

Hey, don't malign my beloved OJ!  :) I do drink Tropicana's Light n Healthy OJ drink since it has less sugar and calories.

Off-topic trivia, but since you said "rat poison,"  I would like to say that one woman's rat poison is another woman's lifesaving medicine.  I say this as someone who took warfarin, a blood thinner, after nearly dying from a huge abdominal blood clot (thank you, birth control pills) and pulmonary embolism.  Warfarin was first developed as a rat poison - they eat enough of it and then spontaneously bleed to death.  Yeah . . . trivia!  ****zzzzzzz****

Back on topic: I do feel that Atkins is the most difficult plan.  You guys have a lot of discipline.

Original goal: lose 53 lbs.  New goal: lose 68-78 lbs total.

Lori, if Dr. Atkins was alive, I'd be kissing him whitcha! Ladies Man Just on a different cheek!  I truly feel like the man gave me my life back after PCOS took it away.  I'm one who gained weight on low fat cuz I couldn't process the carbs.

Maybe, one year, we'll be able to do just 'regular' low carb, but for now I'll stick to Atkins maintenance.  You however are still on the road to drop dead gawgus!   Biker Babe

LOL heather...mary talkin to hersef...ha ha that made my morning!

Hells Bells, Mary, ALL of 'em are hard!!!!! Don't care which one you speak of....not a one of us here are able to eat whatever and how much ever we look at!

It boils down to some form of restriction. Atkins is very easy in my mind for those *****ally do not want to count points, cals, etc.

But yeah, baby girl, all of 'em suck. Let's stay strong here now, ladies and gents! This is a VERY rough patch coming up at us this holiday season!

Well geeze Neece, I'm so glad that laughing at my insane A$$ made your morning...I try to do my part!

And another thing.  I couldn't tell you what a freakin' point was if my life depended on it.  I so admire people who can do that kind of math!  That's ANOTHER reason I need Atkins. Wakka Wakka

Girl, a 'rough patch' is an understatement!  Christmas for me is time to pull out the big guns to battle all of the crap that is constantly 'there'. Transformer Gun No wonder Santa is such a rolee polee!

But I've spent so many New Year's Eves regretting indulging that I've promised masself that this year, I'm going to be proud of myself instead.  That's gonna be my Christmas present to me if I can pull it off! Present

Ummm,  Shy Whistler   now isn't that an interesting question?  Six years.  But I have ISSUES!

Most people would have lost that amount in a year, but I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.  I gained over a hundred pounds in a year, and back then, no one even knew what that was.  I went on low fat and actually gained weight because I'm insulin resistant, part of the PCOS.  When they finally figured out what I had, I went on Atkins because low carb and exercise is how to control it.  I would lose three pounds and gain two just out of the blue.  Then they came out with Glucophage to treat it and I lost the last forty pounds with that and Atkins.  But I couldn't tolerate it any longer, so now I'm on Atkins maintenance.

Add to that what my plastic surgeon cut off and I'm pretty happy with my results.  If it weren't for Atkins, I would be gaining weight as we speak!
