Started liquid fast

This morning I'm up to 223.5.

a week and a half ago I was 203


somebody... shoot me


I STARTED the liquid thing this morning, and if at the end of the week,  I haven't lost anything....  that'll be it for me cause as it it, I have no clothes again, so again, I can't leave the house.

I keep having thoughts to just take a sharp knife and cut my stomache off cause that's where it's all gathering.

Oh, Lori....I don't know what to say.  You have tried everything and have to be sooooo frustrated (to put it mildly).

Hope this works for you, girl.  I'll be praying for you!!

Wow girl... a liquid diet the week of Thanksgiving?  You're a brave woman. 

Hunnybunny are you taking a diuretic?  It HAS to be water weight, because your weight fluctuates like nothing I've ever heard of.

I'm scared to say it but what if you just gave yourself a break from dieting, period?  Like, two weeks off or something?  Maybe that will get your metabolism into a spot where it can be toyed with again?

I hit 225 a little later in the morning.  If I went off diet for 2 weeks, I'd hit 250-

I don't know what to do anymore.

I just want to be normal and I'm sooooooooo freaking tired of whining about.. and it's not like I', sitting around on my fat ass not doing anything about it.  Then I'd say "well.. you stupid biatch, you get what you deserve".

I JUST WANNA BE NORMAL.

Don't matter about thanksgiving..  was only gonna have tuna salad anyway

Can you demand a referal to see a specialist?  If not, maybe seeing another doctor for a second opinion isn't a bad idea.

I don't know how to demand... what.. tell me doc of 20 years that I think he's wrong?  How?

I would, in fact I have.  LOL, although I did it over the telephone.haha  I just called and told them I would feel better if I went to see a specialist even though they didn't recommend it nor did the hosptial recommend it.  But ya know what, the specialist had the RIGHT equipment where he found what was wrong.  If this doc won't do it, go get a second opinion and maybe you can at least get a referral from him. Either that or a bariatric doc, maybe he could get you in some where.  Just throwin out ideas.  I know this is driving you insane.

It sounds like you've already seen a doctor, but you must go back and demand some testing and/or to see a specialist.  Looking at what you post concerning your eating habits, there is just no way you could gain weight or gain so much so quickly.  I'd be less concerned about weight than something being awry with your health.  I don't want to sound alarmist, but I hope you will seek more care as soon as possible.  In the meantime, I don't know if you should start the liquid fast.  What happens if you eat small, balanced meals of protein, fat, and carbs? 

Can you tell if you have edema or pitting anywhere on your body?  If you press into your skin, does a "dent" linger or does the flesh spring back?

Thank you...

My normal diet is fat & protein.. similar to atkins.  Carbs only from dark greens.  This is what I do to control my sugar.................. the weight loss is nice side effect! :)

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time! I agree, that with what you eat, it can't be food thats causing the weight gain (unless you're body is in serious starvation mode, and thats a maybe). With it yo-yoing like that it really does sound like water retention.  Have you talked to your doctor about it? If you keep a chart with your weight several times/day for a few days (to show him/her how much it's fluctuating), surely he would put you on a diaretic at the very least. I have bad edema in my legs, and I think it's a good thing I CANT weigh several times a day.  It would drive me nuts. You might want to consider going off the diet (but still watching you're portion sizes) for a week or so, it might help, and help you to have a break from the stress of dieting. I don't think you would end up 250, you are too concious about what you put in your body for that. I wish you well, and hope you call your doctor on Monday about this. That much water retention could be serious.
