Hello everyone My name is Trisha. I have had an account with Obesityhelp for a couple months, but I have been struggling with how I am going to approach dieting. I have seen all of you have great sucess and are doing an EXCELLENT JOB. I would like to hear from anyone that is willing to share how they are going about losing the weight, and any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and good luck to all of you on your future journey's!!

Hey Trisha, welcome to the non op board.  I'm sitting here in front of my fireplace drinking some Atkins hot chocolate  Relaxing By The Fire and I just finished my Atkins three alarm chili to keep warm...it's cold!  I live in the deep deep deep south and I don't do cold well!  So I guess you got which plan I'm on, I do Atkins.  It's a hard plan to stay on, but I have insulin resistance and PCOS, so it's the only diet I lost on.  There are people on this board who are having success with other plans, you just have to find the one that will work for you personally.  We are all wired differently and what works for one person, may not work for another.

I just read your profile.  I'm glad to see that you got over that eating for two business!  What kind of plan were you on when you had your son and gained no weight...sounds like that was workin' for ya.

Best wishes figuring out your new lifestyle,

Mary

Hello Mary nice to meet you.
When I was pregnant with my 3rd childI had some complications and I was pritty stressed out with the pregancy, so I think stress had a lot of the part of not gaining weight. I am also love fast food and for some reason I did not eat alot of fast food and just did not think about it to much. Now with 3 kids I use fast food and FOOD in general to reward myself. I need to find something else to reward myself. For the last month I have laid off fast food alot but I am not really keeping on a plan. I dont remember if I put it in my profile, but I did Nutrisystem in March and lost about 15lbs in about 2weeks, but it was too expensive for me, then gained all I lost back. My problem is, keeping the motivation and KEEPING WITH IT LONG ENOUGH!!
Alright I am fambling on, thanks again for your resonse and support Mary!!
And you keep up the good work girl!

Hi Trisha:
Welcome to the non-op board.  As Mary told you, we all have our plans that work for us.  I generally eat 5-6 times a day - healthy food - lean protein, grains, vegetables, fruit, I plan my meals and I measure everything.  I don't deprive myself of treats but I do limit myself.  I rarely eat out because it's hard to control how the food is prepared and the portion size.
Choose a plan that will work for you and don't dwell on making "mistakes".  Just regroup at the next meal or day and get back on the wagon.
I started off with no particular plan in mind, I tweaked it as needed and created something I could live with for the rest of my life.
Best wishes!

Kim,
Thank you so much for the info. I see you have done great in losing the weight. How long did it take for you to get where you are? I have tried different plans and I have decided this time I am just going to eat as many fruit, veggies, proteins and lean meats as I can (in portion sizes of course ). I am working on my will power to say no to junk, as soon as I can handle going out and making a good food decision, I am going to stay away from eating out, as much as possible. I went off track just a little yestarday BUT I took a fast paced walk in the morning so I feel I am getting off to a good start. I am rambling as usual, so Thanks again! Hope to chat again soon.

Hi Trisha! I'm new too (well, kinda. I've had an OH account for forever, but just recently started posting and seriously working on losing weight). Anyway, I'm also doing Atkins. Been 12 days now. It's been really tough, cause I'm a carboholic and fast food junkie. The first week was the hardest, the first 3 days hell. I'm really glad I stuck with it, the first week I lost 11 pounds, and I can't wait to weigh in this week. Whatever you decide to do, this message board is a GREAT support. When I feel week I hop on here and feel stronger.    Hope to hear more from you!

Hi Trisha, welcome!

I just read more of your post on this one and I am sooo with you on the motivation part.  It's hard work!  But these guys are great.  Yanno, it hit me a little differently when I read this.  Losing weight is so individual.  There is so many different ways you can lose weight.  So many ways that won't work for one person, but work for another.  Heck, the way you last lost weight on , might not happen again!  I always love listening to people tell me about how they lsot their weight, but at the same time I hate it when it doens't work for me! :) hehe

I have lost weight and yo yoed weight numerous times over the years, between a 100 pounds to like the friggen ten pounds I've yo yoed this past year.  Ok..I'm rambling, ...I've had a hard day.  I just wanted to say howdy and glad you decided to poke your nose in here. :)  It's a great group for a boost or a kick in the buttocks! :)

Everything I looked at (hopefully no affense to anyone) was old lady looking!! All the cute stuff were size s,m,or L and I need a XXL. Anyway I am rambling again today, so thanks again everyone!! And to everyone that just started with me GOOD LUCK!! I will make sure to keep in touch and keep it going, I am off to take a walk!!!yay!
