This is an interesting, informative article. Many of the people on this board practice these principles. I hope the link works....I'm not very technical ;-).

Hey you, steletto ho', the link to askmen.com worked just fine. Now what is a nice, sweet, innocent girl like you doing on such a site. What exactly are you asking those men, anyway?
I loved that article, although I think that if you are young and have no metabolic issues, you can lose weight with calories in, calories out. It's the majority of the rest of us who cain't. Hey ask those men why Neecee and I can't lose another pound to save our souls!

It was posted on the yahoo front page...otherwise I'd have never seen it. I didn't even know that askmen.com existed. Now what makes ya think I'm nice, sweet and innocent?
The men have it easy....cut out cheetos and wine and POOF, 20 pounds gone in a few weeks.
Great info. That was concise and usable!
I recently read an article by a guy who's been a Dr. AND studied nutrition since 1950. That's a rare combination. He was talking about the body de-toxifying when healthy food is introduced. The whole micro nutrient thing, fiber, etc - very important. Soluble fiber sucking up and whisking away fat... very cool. Touched on lots of things that article you successfully linked to did! :-)
Since I know I can dismiss 3 lbs a day whenever I choose to, I'm sticking to what I'm doing. But I'm also beginning to work closely with a hypnotherapist who is an eating disorders counselor. Her technique is so amazing that it brought me to tears. I don't have an eating disorder, other than that I absolutely love food, but I come in contact with so many women who do and they totally beat themselves up. I ordered her CD - I think I mentioned it on here - and it's pretty much amazing. Since she's aware that I'm aware of her issues, I'm sending a CD to my sister for Christmas. It's called 'Mindless and Mindful Eating'.
You're right, Awesome-Buns Mary, that simple calories in vs calories out isn't a magic formula once we pass a certain age. That said - I am heading for the gym this morning to get all sweaty with my hunka hunka man.
OH YEAH - as you said about men thinking about a diet and suddenly 10 pounds disappears! When I started my program, hubby tried a cleanse with me just to see how it worked on him and he lost 9 lbs in 4 days.
Turd.

LOL...Mary nailed ya on this one, Kimmie!!!! I second that you are 2/3...and that ain't bad!
I also second the notion that those mens should follow Mary & I around and let me know what they think after a few weeks of that! My DH could not believe how hard I work at staying this damn fat once he moved in with me.
It helped validate me and frankly kind of scared me...he was the one who helped me realize this is not "normal"! I checked into WLS more seriously at that point. I also came off of my own long-held beliefs that the usual cals in/cals out stuff just does not cut it for a certain section of folks!
It sucks for some of us, but the message is to young folks (the under 30 crowd who have not abused metabolisms): start now while you have the metabolism to eat "normally" and move for a reasonable amount of time most days and be thin!
I do not know exactly what to blame on why some of us end up here...maybe we were born this way, maybe we did it by dieting, binge/purge...who knows.. for me it may be all three things.
I like to read all this stuff, so thanks for sharing, dollface!
ETA: That is a very interesting site! I also enjoyed the article on low carbing - hope Jerz reads the part where one should adjust the workout schedule. very interesting!
