Well..since i have lost weight..I dont have a clue what size of pants I should be in..So I can't order any offline..or win any on ebay..So lastnight..me and the husband and thekids took off out of town..about 40mins away..and we went and had dinner..and I thought while I was by a Old navy..I'd run in and try on a pair of jeans so I know what size I need. Cause I dont have the slightest clue right now. So i went in there..husband and kids waited in the car..and got looking for their plus size clothes..I'd find a 2x shirt..and start looking in that area and it'd all me xs..small and medium..So i looked around for at least 5 mins or so..and finally found someone that worked there and asked here where they were..because i was in there not even a year ago..and where they were..they werent anymore..well she informed me that old navy took all the plus size clothes out of the stores. i was shocked..i couldnt believe it..i felt so out of place..i continued to talk to her...she said they have been trying to get the plus size back in the store..she doesnt understand why they took them out...you can only order online now..she said some of the stores still carry maternity..but how she made it sound..none of them carry plus size anymore..i asked her if they did good selling them..and she said oh yeah..i was so disappointed..i felt like a idiot for being in the store..she said i could order online and if it needed to be returned i could bring it to the store but other then that..thats it..but yeah just had to share that..i couldnt believe it..its like people that are overweight aren't even thought about!! its unfair to me but i try to think of it as..hopefully i wont always be plus size..but for now..i am! and would like to buy clothes!

Hun, why don't you measure your waist, and hips and look at the size chart on Old Navy's website to see what you fit in?

Thats terrible. It is horrible how stores and clothing manufacturers descriminate against plus size people. As if we're the minority (when, sadly, the number of plus-size people keeps growing). Ive long since given up going in normal size clothing stores, and when I go shopping with friends or family, i always feel like the store associates are looking at me and thinking 'what is SHE doing here, she clearly doesn't fit.' I dont' know if thats my own insecurities surfacing, but I do know that I have been treated rudely in such stores for no apparent reason. Anyway, have you tried other specifically plus-size stores? I LOVE fashion bug, catherines, and lane bryant. All have online stores too, but maybe you could go in and try on clothes to get an idea of what size you are if not to actually shop. Stores like Walmart also have a halfway decent plus-size department (even if the clothes arn't very stylish) you could use to size yourself. Good luck!

I've noticed also that the Old Navy store by me doesn't carry as much plus sizes as they use too.  I've been wondering what was going on.  It is a bummer, because there is not much stores out there for us.  I hate those little boutiques around town because although I'm 40 I still dress young, and all they have is "old" people clothes.  Think the only store here for me is Torrid.  Hopefully they will never go out of business!

We always get the shaft, I think it's just the way it will always be.  Part of me thinks it's wrong, but part of me feels like it's a motivator to lose the weight. Know what I mean?  I read online yesterday that I think it was Britain...not sure, but in nine towns they are trying to make everyone healthier by exercising.  If they do so much within a period of time they get store coupons and free days off work.  I think the idea is great.  Wish we would do something like that, especially how hard times are right now.

Keep your chin up girl and don't let it get to ya.  I know it's aggravating as all hell, but use this as a motivator to get closer to goal since your on your way!  :)

Oh i think you are right..it is a motivator..to lose the weight..so that I can shop at the "normal' stores. Just stinks though..i use to love going to that old navy to shop..well cant anymore..as of right now..i did notice they had some size 18 jeans..so maybe when i am in a 18 i will be able to go there and shop for clothes.  so cant take it to heart to much..just have to take it as..hey this is a sign to keep on losing! I hope that things start getting better for a lot of us..it seems as though a lot of people are having a hard time right now. I'm looking forward to around march or so..our truck will be paid off!! and it will be tax time and i am paying off a credit card or two..it will make things a lot easier..

but thanks for all your replys...i just had to vent to someone..and whose better then all of you guys to understand? :) you guys are the bomb!!

well shoot! They had the best shorts for us real wimmin, too!

Shows to go ya that why plus sizes may be going out:  fat chicks do not tend to spend money on clothes! That is the wrong way to think, btw.  We should want to look great and trendy at all sizes.
