What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?
Oh, Mary, my buns have been neglected of late. I'm working on that elliptical thing so they do get some attention. Gotta get back into the squeeze and hold routine in the car! I don't like losing a contest.
As to the lament on diet vs success, I met a psychologist who has worked with eating disorders for 17 years. She's starting to introduce nutritional cleansing to her clients who want some initial success to get them on the path.
I purchased her CD, which cost about $15 I think, and I'll let you guys know how I like it. It's called 'Mindful and Mindless Eating'. I spent over an hour with her, and it sounds like she's got it together. As far as I know she deals in generalities rather than "diets" per se. She teaches women to get in contact with their bodies, as opposed to "control", because control is such a negative word.
Anyway, as I said, I'll listen to the CD and see if it's awesome or not and then report back.
I know from experience that fatigue causes over-eating. Stress can, too, of course. With daughter about ready to pop out her little bean, the house being torn up and in the process of re-arrangement, trying to sell the appliance store, moving from our retail store front to the storage facility, and continuing to live on savings, I know I am STRESSED. It requires keeping an eye on and asking myself if I'm hungry, bored, tired, stressed, thirsty, or frustrated. Stress is a killer.
Meanwhile I'm looking forward to 2009, with a new grandson, a retail biz that's done on our terms and worked from a location with heat (YAY), and having some days to work on MY business for a change!!!
WOW. You know you're doing too much when the thought of having two days off in a row makes you cry.
Ruth aka Mom Shap aka Grandma or "Grammy" as the three grandkids have started to call me
