Proud Mary has company so I'm posting for her.......

I'm proud that I have an AWESOME PCP.  I saw her today so I could check in with her regarding my surgical complications and she is BEYOND awesome.  Before my appointment, she reviewed medical documentation at least 4 inches thick, discussed my case with my ID dr several times, discussed everything with me, was very compassionate about what I've been through and agreed with my theory on how it all happened and who f'ed up.  It SO helped reinstate my trust in physicians - she truly does care and doesn't let arrogance stand in the way of appropriate medical care.  Kudos and a big thank you to Dr. Mundy!

I'm also proud of Lori for sticking to her plan despite her birthday.  I've had many birthdays while on a "diet" or "plan" and it sucks to not be able to celebrate!  I hope you had a fabulous day, Lori.

Thank you to those who have sent me PMs and posted nice, encouraging words.  I've read them all and I appreciate them.

And lastly, welcome to all the newbies.  You'll find lots of support from the people on this board.  We're glad you joined us.

What are YOU proud of today?

I'm so GLAD you had a good experience with your PCP today!!!!!  I'm hoping she can get ya to feeling better and better and better!

Kim.. you're just awe inspiring.. not just for all you've already been through, but the way you're getting through this.. something which would have definitely knocked me down.  You're doing what needs to be done.. and handling it.  AMEN girl...  that's true strength!!!!!!!

I'm proud I did my do even if it was with a couple of modifications.
I DID drink.. but stuck with booze that wouldn't touch my blood sugar and has not interfered with my weight loss.  Ok..  it was a 2 drink limit.. and they were doubles....  but I'm good to go.

The other modification was ditching weights.  No.. I didn't train.. so I took the trainer with me and we exercised our drinking arms.. although his glass had water w/lemon, so it was heavier!! LOL  I couldn't get ferschnickered cause he's got me down for an hour tomorrow morning and I gotta get in there an hour before him to get my warm up in.

I'm also proud Janina is doing her do.. although I wanna take her almonds away and give her macadamias!  Oh.. and Janina...  every single time I see your name I think of David Bowie's "Janine"!!!!!!    "Oh Janine, my love.. I'm helpless for your smile"

Hey Lori:

Awe inspiring? Not hardly!  I'm a total basket case most of the time.  Had a good day today though.

Sounds like fun "exercise"!

Thanks Kimmie for doing this with such short notice.  My thirteen year old niecette asked if she and her two friends could come over and bake brownies for their bake sale.  Good great aunt that I am, of course I said yes.

NervousMy proud? Nervous I didn't eat Nervousbrownies!

Skinny little hos practically ate all of their product.  I just thank God that I'm not a teenager!

Wow, you must really be impressed if you are saying nice things about a doctor...I haven't heard that in a while!  I hope she had encouraging things to say.

Thanks again,

Mary

So what exactly is a "niecette"?  A skinny, young niece?

I  brownies so I probably would have had one...but only one!  Yay for you for resisting the temptation!

Kimmie, you are a brave lady and i admire you muchly! I am practicing a yogic mind exercise lately and so i join you in celebrating your PCP, mine is the same way - who can set ego aside, set lawsuit possibility aside and speak from her heart. Truth is, that is all most patients want is validation and confirmation and support - truthfully not many really want the headaches and trials of a litigation. Good for her.

My proud yesterday?  i donated blood instead of my pm walk. I knew that I would not get in there the rest of this week, so I sacrificed my walk.
