My road to a new lifestyle................
I'm a little bit new to the message board (thing) and my wife likes to grill be over my grammar so I thought I'd just worn everyone upfront.
Hello, as you can tell I'm new here, and I wanted to introduce myself to the board. I've started a new chapter in my life today. I've positively named that chapter "My road to a new lifestyle....", but I feel to be successful I need to be part of some form of a support system. I've been on the OH website for a few months now for moral support for my beautiful wife who has just recently decides to have WLS. That's when it really hit me my weight has been getting out of control as well and my health has been going downhill over the last couple of years. I'm only 31 so it's starting to scare me. So I decide to go see a doctor and get some help and try to do this thing on my own......seriously with a little help. So yesterday I saw the DR and today I got up exercised for 45 minutes and went to work knowing I had a long road ahead of me, but it’s not a race track so I need to just stick with it and stay focused and be positive.
So now that I've started and I’m positive I will succeed I'm going to set my goals achievable and take it 1 day at a time.

I think Janina's menu thingie helps keep us accountable... and the Proud Mary thingie reminds us that every positive step we take is part of our success.. and trying to remember that on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays really helps sometimes!
Congrats on your decision !!!!
Be Blessed

Awwe, we got a couple on the board now, how neat is that! :) As for the grammar, I'm the same..as I think I've even warned Jenn in a personal email myself, so no worries! As we get older it deff sneaks up on us. My husband is a year older than you and also is just realizing his round tummy is getting the best of him. He still jokes about it though and hasn't faced the consequences it's going to have. So your a step ahead of a lot of people!
Glad you decided to join us.
We have a lot of fun over here so feel free to jump in anytime. Sometimes we get silly, but if you pay close attention, sometimes we make some profound statements about weight loss! I hope you'll be one of our best success stories,
Mary
P.S. Good grammar not required!
Personnally, I love to read creative things rather than things with grand structure! Followed closely by things posted from the heart.
30 ish is the age where most of us stop and take a long hard look at okay, i scrwed THAT up in the food intake department. We continued to consume like Teenage Coneheads til we blew out the candles on that black be-frosting'ed 30th birthday cake. RIGHT?????
You can do this...stick around.

So I'll be on the board from time to time and If you've ever communicated with my wife she can tell you I'm very opinionated. So I'll be either posting from time to time or reply to message when I feel the need too.
Everyone good luck...............
