What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?
I finally had a heart to heart talk with myself about some of the decisions that I have made in the past. I reviewed them and sorted them out...I was exceedingly honest with myself. I realized that I have made some excellent and courageous decisions! What often got in my way was my lack of focus on my health and weight loss. I realized that positions that I did not get were not because of not being qualified...heck, being selected for interviews from among hundreds of applicants let me know that I was well qualified, what killed my chances was "showing up" 350 lbs.
Sooo, I know that my decision making is sound, it was my lack of understanding the importance of being healthy and to put it first at all times that gave me set backs. I am RESOLVED, My weight loss and health ALWAYS come FIRST! NOW that's a GREAT DECISION!

Congratulations on such an excellent
to. Sounds like you got some really important tenants of healthy weight loss down pat. Most people never quite get it that THEY have to be FIRST. I know it was hard for me to put my workouts before cleaning the house, but what's a li'l dust between friends, huh? Now I have more than enough energy to workout AND keep the house spotless, so it was a great temporary tradeoff. Hey, are you on any specific kind of plan?

Well i didn't get to take my second walk tonight. Soon as hubby got home he didn't want chicken for dinner so off to the store we went. We ended up having cubed steak. Oh my my hubby is so bad with his mashed potatoes, i fixed a pot of those and he ate the whole damn thing. I just set there and shook my head at him. I told him he'll never lose his weight he can't even give up his potatoes, he said I'll lose it, it 's not hard for a man to lose weight like it is a woman. Man did that make me mad. It's just not fair. Anyway it got late by the time i got dinner done, cleaned up the kitchen, gave my kids their baths it was late, i just got to sit down and get on the computer. I figured up how many carbs i had today and i had way to many. So I'm still working on that. I'm just learning about what i can eat and can't. As for the soda's Mary you hit it right on the nose, it is hard to give up, just like an alcoholic can't give up their beer. I did have a 1/2 can of soda, but downed it with water right after. Tomorrow is another day. I'm looking forwards to see that skinny person in me come out. I refuse to give in to my old self. Everyone have a goodnight.

Too bad that Monday, i did not have too much to be proud of in the eating area. For some weird reason, I took an ice cream sandwich that this guy at work is constantly passing out. That day was rockin and rollin at work, and my food had been spotty and I caved. THEN i ate a candy bar later on. Overall, my calories were not that bad, but definitely NOT a loss day.
I did take a walk both days this week so far - in mighty big hills. Yesterday I worked out before (yoga) work and after (big walk).
Funny you all are talking about soda...I decided yesterday to go off it for the time being just to see something. I have been feeling very bloaty lately; i feel it is primarily menopausal crap, but I wonder. I've stopped diet soda before, and quitting did not do much for me. I expected it to help with wild hunger issues, which I do not have too much these days.

Geeze what kind of a moron walks around a work place and constantly hands out ice cream sandwiches??? Doesn't he know there is an obesity crisis in this country? I'd have to tell him, uh, this is so nice of you, but could you please "STOP TRYING TO MAKE ME FAT!!!!" Well, maybe I wouldn't be quite that blunt.
As for the soda, the problem with it is the combination of sodium and carbonation. It constanly keeps you bloated and if you are trying to lose weight, it doesn't help flush fat out of your system like water does. And as for menopausal crap, I find that occasionally I get bloated like I'm going to have a period. My gyno said that it's because you still have the hormone fluctuations, but no bleeding. Dang, like we didn't have enough problems already!
