What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?

I'm proud cause I took the day to spend with my mother. Gorgeous autumnal day here....sunny, 70, loads of gorgeous color of fall foliage. We went to one of her favorite restaurants about an hour and half away and she thoroughly enjoyed the time away and with her darling daughter (ME!!). I don't do that often enough (we can be like oil and water) and heaven knows how many more days like that we may have together....she's 84 and failing.
Just had a disturbing thought....days like that should be the norm, not one I have to feel proud about!
Like with my Grandmother. Everybody thought she was just the sweetest old lady and I'd tell them, she was a ***** when she was young and now she's just an OLD *****! Of course SHE never knew I felt that way. I was very good to her and my Mother.
Girl, I'm jealous of your weather and your trees. Here in the deep deep deep South, you wouldn't even know it was Autumn.

I want to look back on my mom's last days and know i did the right thing. I would hate to know that my decisions and mouth kept things all stinky. I'd rather get a taste of what Heaven is like - yanno...where it's all good, back to the way we should be with each other.
Just the connection...the love...all that other stuff matters for naught.

My sister and I laughed about the fact that she was so much more enjoyable when she became unable to talk. It was sadly funny. But you have to laugh, you know?
I'll take a massage!!!

Nut now I realize there is a lot to that. I think maybe many obese folks might benefit from glandular stimulations as you describe!
My day's proud? I jogged, then came home and did ball crunching, some yoga and prayed for all of us during these scary times. And said thank you over and over. i am truly some of the luckier folks who got on the raft before it tipped this bad.
I vow to help all i can with the blessings i have received.

T-Neece, I had never even heard of lymphatic massage until my plastic surgeon recommended it. But this masseuse sure did know a lot about the lymph system. Your heart pumps your blood, but the lymph system only has movement to pump the fluid and who knew that scar tissue gets in it's way. Plus after all of the surgery that I have had, she said my lymph system is probably in SHOCK!
You can do ball crunches? I've always admired people who can do work on a ball. I'm pretty balanced, just not when it comes too a ball.
I'm glad to hear you are on the raft. I moved to higher ground years ago. But you are right, this is some scary stuff.
