What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?
I so tired. I've been on the business end of a hammer and pry bar all afternoon, pulling baseboards and quarter round in my kitchen, utility room, and long A$$ hallway, getting ready for the new floor. Now that's armwork if I've ever seen it! I'll be proud if I can get these nails pulled before Biggest Loser comes on. I'll be proud of Jillian if she whoops that sorry ass team of women into killa shape! Now that's some serious stupidity goin' on up in THAT gym!!!

Ummm...I don't mean to analyze what you just said, but let's do it anyway...just for fun. People who do not do well with any sort of conflict can sometimes deal with the stress of conflict with food. My sister is famous for self medicating with food and it's killing her. And yet she will not admit that she is under stress because she wants everyone to believe that her life is perfect. I'm not saying that is you, but do you ever find yourself overeating when you are under stress from conflict? I know I used to be sooooo guilty of that!

Jennifer, my best advice to you is to promise yourself that if you don't work on ANYTHING else in your weight loss program, that you will work on not internalizing the turmoil that surrounds you. I learned the hard way that I am NOT responsible for how anyone around me reacts to life's dramas. I can only react by dealing with my responsibilities in a situation and then dismiss what is not relevant to me. I can't run to Popeye's and eat fattening unhealthy crap cuz some fool is having a fit because_______. (fill in the blank) By letting that get to you, not only are you overeating, but you are releasing stress hormones into your system that only serve to make your waistline bigger. Take a deep breath and learn to say "WhatEVER". Deal With It. Ummmm...FYI, sometimes you have to say that to yourself and not out loud!
As Jillian would say...find your voice.

Thank you Mary, I know you are right and it is something I have seriously been working on but I need to "do" and not "try". Too many things muddle the already overwhelmed mind. Many things made me the door mat I am today and it is not exactly easy to stand up and say"no".
Life is short, laugh easily, forgive quickly, and never regret anything that made you smile.
Yanno Jennifer, none of this is easy, but it is a process that must be started if you are going to get control over your eating. Now this is going to sound like a cliche', but only you can let someone make a doormat out of you if you stay on the ground. Get yasself up girl and take command of your situation. Your life situation, your physical situation, your spiritual situation and your mental state. I know it's hard, believe me I know, but you are going to look back on this a few years from now and find out how much losing weight has changed you. You will probably find that you don't take as much crap anymore. Some of that has to do with the fact that when you are thin, you feel better about yourself. I just hope that you reach that level of confidence NOW rather than later.
