My 1st day on Atkins....
Ok... we both know the bun is a huge NO NO.... I found it easier when I planned. I thought that it would take me three days to start throwing ketones.... so I planned to have eggs and bacon (enough to satisfy me), turkey for lunch (as much as it took), chicken for dinner.... black olive snacks.. and on and on..
I threw ketones after the first day, and by the 3rd my hunger was virtually non-existent.. and by the fifth I was starting to look at carbs like RAT poison!
:) Maybe just a bit of planning will help with that head hunger!

finish strong for the rest of the day
THAT is the way to think! You will need to try hard to completely avoid that type of thing, of course, for the chemical reaction that Atkins promises (ketosis).
I tried it faithfully for 30-40 days and was amazed at how little hunger I experienced. BUTT there were two things painfully obvious for me:
1. no WAY was i going to really never eat pasta/potaotes/bread ever again...
2. and I lost more weight on WW approach (just limiting calories, not the types of food I ate). I lost 4 pounds on that month or so of Atkins, so not real impressed.
I will say that fast forward to today, the less grain/bread items i eat, the more weight i seem to lose or not gain. So, I still try to keep grain/breads to 1-3 servings daily. Small servings, 15 g each.
