MIA- due to back procedure

Hi I kind of introduced myself on the 14th and than went MIA for a few days as I had a spinal procedure done and needed time to recoup. I was previously over at the lapband site but was denied surgery and now with this new found ability to walk I am seriously thinking of going back to WW.   I was told that the procedure was a success and I should see the results in 1-1/2 to 2 weeks.  I am all ready seeing some results in the last few days as I am walking straighter and only using one cane.  I am hoping within the next 2 weeks to be able to get rid of that cane as well.
I'd like to go back to WW on Tuesday morning since I have off from work. Just kind of wondering what type of support to ask for and what you offer to each other. How many of you are on WW and how are you doing? Are you journalling what you eat and are you accountable to anyone else here on the forum?  I hope to be able to make lots of new friends here as I am alone on this journey.

Welcome Back Well it sounds like you have been given an amazing gift.  And how nice that you are feeling the results so quickly.  My sister had back surgery and it is taking her months to heal.  You are truly blessed, indeed.

I don't know nuthin' bout WW, so I'm pretty useless, I just wanted to wish you well on your journey,

Mary

Thanks Mary, Yes  I truly have been given a gift and a second chance to live a more normal life.
The procedure I had done was not true back surgery like it sound like your sister had. I had a radiofrequency neurotomy which is a cutting of 4 nerves in my spine.  It was done as an outpatient and laposcopically so all I had was 4 bandaids. I went in at 1:45 pm and was able to drinve myself home by 7 pm. I still have the bulging and herniated discs as they wouldn't do that kind of surgery on me at my weight but I don't have the pain assocaited with the problems.

What porgram are you following?  Are you seeing good results.

Ya drove yasself home???  Faint You are definitely a better woman than I am!

You made me laugh.  Am I seeing good results.  I'm a walking good/bad advertisement for Atkins.  I've lost 129 pounds, but due to severe PCOS...it took me SIX years.  With my issues and insulin resistance, it was more of a lose three, gain one or two situation and lots of exercise.  Another weird thing, my plastic surgeon cut off over thirty pounds of skin and fat and that never showed up on the scale.   Thinking More fuzzy PS math that doesn't add up.

But the key to all of this is to start the journey, and then hold on by the skin of your teeth to stay on the road.  Sometimes, you may skid off the path, but just get back on and keep going.  Good thing this is metaphorical or I'd have skid marks all over me!!! Wink

Yes I did!   I had no anesthesia and no one but myself so I had to drive home. I was the 3rd to the last person to leave the surgical center. I think  you did fantastic.     129 pounds is 129 pounds less than you did carry on your body.  Sorry I am not sure what PCOS is but regardless of how long it takes,  you stuck with it and did it.   That is weird that the PS didn't show as 30 pounds less. As for the skid marks I know I have had my share of them too.  But I am continuing the journey until I am where I want to be.

I'm so happy for you.  After reading your post explaining what's going on, I felt so badly and was praying you would find success with this procedure!

God Bless!

Thanks Lori
I was hoping for success to and even though it has only been a few days I am very pleased with the change. I will be heading back to Curves again on Tuesday and that will really be the true test. If I can do the whole circuit without the canes and without the pain I will be one happy camper.
