Biggest Loser Show and Myself
Ok, I had no idea the show was on until my mom called "ARE YOU watching IT!?" Im like umm watching what (I don****ch TV much anymore, barely ever I'm never home and when I am Im on the phone or computer lol) Anyways, she told me I said no, but I watched the last half an hour. I wasn't going to watch it because i get emotional. I love the show, but I hate watching people drop soooo much weight all at once. So ofcourse when I seen a guy pull 28 pounds loss, I lost it I cried I was like you mother chucker! I'm always like why can't I do that!?
Everytime tho, when the show is on like during the season i am the most obsessed. Like it triggers something and I go fine if they can do that I CAN DO THAT! So...I am currently TOTALLY obsessed. Walk in the morning, walk at lunch, workout up to 2 hours at the gym, unless it is Monday and Wed. I have Cardio Kickboxing for an hour, then i hit the gym for a half an hour afterwards. So I mean the show does motivate me...Plus I am so sick of seeing the 200's. I want to see the 100's GEEZ! I want to be 180 by Halloween because my costume this year is gonna be sexy...I have always wanted a sexy costume but was to damn fat...I am being Madonna Like A Virgin. I am getting the skirt thing made like the one that Britney Spears and Christinia Aguilera wore at the VMA's in 2003. (If you go to YouTube and search Christina, Britney, Madonna VMA's you'll see it.) But yea...Saturday the freakin Scaled better read 206 or 205 Or I am kicking it lmao. Nah not really. But still COME ON ALREADY!
Gosh I ramble. I'm gonna try and get on here more often! I miss all of you. Jerz I still need to write you so we can catch up!
Oh and anyone else get motivation from the show or what are your feelings on it? And I know all they do on that show is workout for like 10 hours a day lol....
Oh and I seriously recommend to EVERYONE Cardio kickboxing, find a class they are so fun and give such a great work out! The classes are for everyone of any weight and any age...cuz you take it at your own pace. :)
I used to be like that, then I realized for me it created an unhealthy mindset. And then I did some research. Things aren't as they seem.
First off, often folks waterload for the first weigh in so a 25lb loss in a week is often due to releasing tha****er.
Secondly, it's been explained by a doctor on the show that they specifically search out candidates whose behaviors would result in a dramatic change. So if you were/are eating McD supersize meals for every meal and your only exercise is using the remote, you too (you anyone) can be on the show. Pffft.
Thirdly, they do not appropriately fuel the candidates for their workouts, so you can take a 300lb woman, get her eating 1200 calories and she will lose (and regain for next season).
As for working out, they do 4-6 hours a day, only 1-2 hrs at high intensity levels.
And the candidates use all teh tricks in the books. Remember, this is about lbs, not fat loss. So affecting lbs is not as hard as affecting fat loss.
Anyway, when I realized all this, I realized it's not worth letting it upset me that they lose so fast. I in fact have to no****ch the show because it sends me into a spiral. I wish all the contestants luck, but don't feel they're given tools for permanent change.
And one should be glad for all they have achieved. I remind myself, 60lbs is nothing to sneeze at. To be grateful I wear a 14/16 top and 16/18 bottom.... I can only be me, you know?
Mary put it best: she says that - that is how much crappy food those people were ingesting - so to eat anything like a healthier diet makes them whoosh ou****er weight. The producers pick those folks based on never working out, eating crap from hell, too.
Like that one family wiht the very heavy 4yo girl - to waltz into that donut shop and eat that amount of food - I was purely horrified. And I used to eat oreos with extra frosting in them! I usta could eat me sum junk, trust me.
God is my witness, I was not as fat as they were, that's what my problem was - even during the oreo years, my body did not rebel on me and get as fat as I probably deserved to be.
I wonder how it would be with a show like most of us already are: pretty good overall habits, don't you????
The show does motivate me as well, I must say, as angry as I get. I dropped down and did 30 push ups during the show - something I have been pretty lazy about and doing only hit and miss! LOL! I cry too, like a retard.
PS: my requirement for Halloween is to be ****ty! I don't give a care how fat I am. My DH thinks I am hawt. Should seen my Red Riding Ho outfit - DH was a Party Wolf...that was a classic!

I don't know about that! My area is really for people who love the outdoors - lots of mountain hikes, clear lakes, fishing, skiing, etc. It is a more rural area.
I live about 2 hours above Sacramento. The Real Northen California - i crack up when I hear San Franciscans call themselves Northen Californians. I'd definitely come down to SF if that is what you want to do. SF is worth every penny - a completely different experience than SoCal. The Pac Bell ball park is awesome! Come see a Giants ball game.
I'd LOVE to show you around! Lemme know!

And while my numbers were high like many of their's, my behaviors have never been so bad and so consistently bad.
I too was aghast at the donut shop. WTF!
