Either that or Jon will wait in parking lot on those days he's supposed to work out with me.. or wear  disguise..

Yes.. we love Andrew.. he KNOWS that it's difficult to do my do when Jon is on my ass.... and he removed him with east.

I'm thinking about a tv in my room.... sounds like I missed a good BL.  :(

This is the reason my DH has his own study.  He can watch all of the trash he wants to, and I get to watch what I want, when I want.  Although he has gotten to where he comes in here sometimes when BL is on.  He watched the whole thing last night.

This is what cracks me up.  When I tell him I weighed waaaaay more than those girls at 267, he says I was never that big.  Ain't love grand!

Does anyone know if there is a biggest loser challenge going on for nonsurgical ???  Been gone from OH for several months.  I had lapband for about 18 months and had to have it removed on July 7 after my 2nd "slip".  Just looking for a "new home" for ongoing support.   Ii had kind of shyed away from OH because most of it is focused on surgical and I was depressed about having to give up my lapband.  I'm trying to be "over that" and be dedication to removing the last 15-20lbs on my own by following the south beach diet and exercise.  Getting lots of flack from friends and family who say "why are you doing a diet??? you don't need to lose any more weight" etc....  all the while knowing that the most difficult part of weight loss is maintenance.  My mom has lost and re-gained 100lbs 3 times in the past 20yrs.  My brother has lost and gained 40 lbs 2-3 times in the past 10 years and my sister is currently about 30lbs overweight.  My dad died at age 48 of a massive heart attack and was only 25 or 30lbs overweight.  If anyone is interested in email or online support please don't hesitate to post, email or pm me.  Thanks everyone and have a great day!!!

Hi Shellnurse,

I shake my head, too, when people ask things like "How long are you going to DO that? You don't need to lose any more weight." They don't get it that relaxing into bad habits is what caused the weight gain in the first place. It's so hard on your body to yo-yo, so I've decided to do the smart thing for the rest of my life.

This forum has some post surgicals on it, and some non (like me), and some pro and some anti... good variety. The South Beach diet sounds like a good one. Also, Dr. Barry Sears 'Zone' books are excellent, and highly recommended by my health coach, Randall Burt.

Congratulations for seeking out a healthy support group!

Shell, as far as I know, we don't have a Biggest Loser Challenge going on here.  But most of us are non-op or the ops are past the honeymoon period, so we're basically all plugging along together.  Here, we usually don't have people losing weight in leaps and bounds, but we're proud to be losing anything we can get without a surgery tool.  So we're happy to be losers and cheer each other on pound by pound.

You came to the right place for support with maintenance, a lot of us struggle just as hard with it as those struggling to lose.  This is a never ending battle no matter which path you have chosen to follow, and it's nice to have a place to whine, gripe, ***** moan, groan, complain and share in each others victories, big or small.

Happy maintenance,

Mary

yeah, shell, I second, thrid and fourth what my sistahs say here.

I have come to realize that I cannot seem to participate in a challenge of any kind. It does not really motivate me.  I'd rather work with the idea that whatever I choose to do to drop pounds must be as mundane and as welcome as brushing my teeth & hair every day!

I'm stuck on stop here lately with my plan, playing with the same 5-8#. So, I am hardly an expert. I am just trying to survive here, day in and day out. I come here to get inspiration and support, and try to give it to others who are hurting or are dumber than me for the moment.

Sometimes we whine **** and moan, and other times, we say really cool stuff! Hang around, please!

BL...holy crap...losing 20+ pounds in a WEEK?????  Was I trippin or did that one guy lose 30ish?

I cried too in the first 10 minutes - and got a little po'ed.   It is very shocking that people still waltz into donut shops and eat trays of donuts like that.  Those people were sobbing on how chubby their daughter is, and yet they do THAT???

I guess I would have done the same thing once upon a time. And..I would hate o be filmed at times myself. I actually used that imagery of someone filming me during my evening binging.

How much fluid were those guys retaining to lose that much in one week???  Like I said, those bodies were "screaming" for a healthy lifestyle.

And I'm with you.  Crying cuz the little girl was fat and still taking her to eat donuts.  Lots and lots of donuts.  And they let HER do the ordering.  That's just insane.  But Bob sure did look cute with that goofy looking donut hat.

If I would have ever been filmed pigging out I Love Candy , I probably would have gone to live in a cave!  But you're right, that is a great visual to use.  If I thought someone was watching me, I'd try to at least ACT normal cuz the shame would be too much to bare!

Hey Neen, would you ever consider going on the Biggest Loser?  I have mixed emotions about it.  I would have loved to have the help losing, but good Lawd, those weigh-ins in the sports bras and shorts.  My belly would have been dragging on my knees! Blushy 2
