BELLA!  I just love your little bouncy thingie in your signature.. always makes me feel like bouncing too!!!

Oh man.. wings....  now I feel like wings with that blue cheese.  I LOVE blue cheese on a nice bunch of shredded romaine too .. oh yum

Today Andrew and I sat down in his office and discussed my frustration.  We were on our way upstairs to work upper body and I told him "Andrew.. I gotta get something accomplished here........ it's either I keep paying you or I take that cash and go to a bariatric doctor because my insurance doesn't cover it".  He turned around and said "follow me".  So we went over everything I eat and he thinks I'm eating too much fat.  Wow...  He's not crazy about low carb though...  so I've been doing a lot of reading about breaking a stall and there's a great site I found... but it's soooooooooooooo strict that i don't know if I could follow it.

I love my little Andrew.. I really do and we've been working together for so long that I don't know if I could effectively train myself with weights without him.

B.  1.5 fried eggs
L.  3 whole scrambled eggs (with nothing in 'em)
D.  1/2 a ribeye and an egg... no veggies....

I'm going to try to repeat this for seven days.
I had to take something for pain so I could move, and lo and behold....  back to 210.  I gotta shake it off.

I looked for an endocrinologist in town and the only one has retired and recommends I drive to Augusta :(  That's not going to happen.  The only bariatric doctor in town doesn't take insurance for anything bariatric related.  So that's a bust...

I'll just keep plugging along.

Exercise:  45 minutes of interval training as a warm up to 45 minutes of upper body.  I went back to the gym and did another PERFECT hour of interval on the treadmill.

Girlie, Atkin's is high fat.  Maybe you're not eating ENOUGH fat??  I was reading the Bible (Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution, 2002) last night and it was chapter 8 or 9 that they were going over studies done with people where the more fat they consumed, the more weight they lost.  Also, maybe your protein is too high.  I was reading that high amounts of protein actually cause your body to produce insulin (fat).

I don't know, sweetiepants.  I'm just guessing.  I've been reading that book a lot lately.

Yanno, I've been thinking the same thing about too much protein since more than 50 % will be turned to glucose.  This morning I woke up to a 170 which is outrageous compared to what it's been for the past year.  This means my pancreas is dumping some very unwanted insulin into my blood.

How do ya eat fat without the protein?  That's my new mission.. .to find out how.

Condiments, I think. Stuff like Butter, Salad Dressings, Mayo.  Mmm... Mayo...

Janina:
Your list of high fat condiments made me laugh because it reminded me of visiting my great aunt (who thinks she's the epitome of southern genteelness) several years ago and she asked me if I wanted some butter....and then later if I wanted some cream.....and then later if I wanted some mayonnaise and each time I told her I hated those things and didn't eat them.  So, after the last "do you want x...no I hate it", she says to me, "Well honey how'd you get so fat then?!"  I still laugh about it every time someone asks me if I want any of those things!

I went back to work today and the city is difficult to get around in.  No working traffic lights, MILES of cars at gas stations - in fact, I couldn't get to two different post offices because of the traffic jams at gas stations.  Electricity is still off at my house but it's pleasantly cool outside.  Ice is impossible to find.  Tap water is not fit for human consumption.  Not really an issue for me, drink-wise because I have bottled water but it's a HUGE issue for me because I have fresh incisions so I haven't had a real shower since Friday.  YUCK!!

So, my food for today........

Exercise:  None

M1:  3 oz. grilled chicken breast
M2:  bottle of Isopure protein drink
M3:  Lunch at Thai Pepper restaurant - thai pepper beef, EXTRA HOT - ate half of the serving; 1/2 cup brown rice; spring roll dipped in that spicy, sweet orange sauce
M4:  1/2 bottle of Isopure protein drink
M5:  I plan to have 3 oz. grilled chicken

I hope everyone' s having a good week.  I've missed being online.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh man I miss full fat Mayo...yum, yum, yum.  I also miss regular salad dressings, heck I miss salad.  With my tiny tummy, I have to push protein first.  Rarely is there any room for salads.  Ahh well, gotta look at the bright side right?  Now with my surgery I never heard I would "dump" as those with the RNY can, however, too much fat or sugar (or what my baby tummy thinks of as too much fat) and I have some form of dumping.  Heck, even two tablespoons of regular sour cream can make me have an episode.  I try and look on that as a great "side affect."

So how is the Atkins plan going for you?

Not too shabby - I'm down 7 pounds in 4 weeks.  Slow, but I'm moving and considering I was "stuck" since May, I'm thrilled to see the scale move!!

Lori...olive oil.  I eat a salad every day with olive oil and red wine vinegar with garlic.  I beat the hell out of it with a whisk to blend.  It's also great for cooking, but knowing that you're Italian, I'm not telling you something you don't know.

I bought some sea salt today at Sam's.  I'll let you know if I like it.

I just gotta get right on this thing.  I find it impossible to believe that I've come this far and maybe I've lost all that I'm going to lose.  I love vinegar and oil....  but I've not been good at salads lately.. I really need to get back on them.

I'm so darned disappointed that the only endocrinologist in the area is retired, and I'm not into driving an hour to get to one.  I know that these sugar spikes have something to do with this.. I just wish I knew what was causing it.

The worst was the call to the bariatric doctor this morning...  they said my insurance will not cover a visit for that purpose.  Leaves me with a choice... do I continue along this path and keep implementing all the suggestions and see what happens...  or do I ditch my trainer to seek advice from a professional who may be very against the low carb lifestyle.

I brought myself to tears today.. lol  I kinda threw my hands up and said "well, Jon.. I've done the best I could.. I think it's over".

I just cannot settle for this size and this weight.    :)

MOre salad.. on the way!
