What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?

I'm proud that that storm in the Gulf isn't affecting me....for a change.  Although I didn't go to Sam's in Louisiana today because the storm was kicking up Lake Pontchartrain something fierce and we got a little bit of rain from the bands.

My friend Dora drove down to Bay St. Louis and she said that the Silver Slipper Casino was four feet underwater and the beach front was over the road.  The Silver Slipper is DH's Favorite casino and he said, Lord, please save the Slipper.  Being as he has his priorities ALL WRONG, I said Lord, please save the people of Bay St. Louis.  He said, yeah, especially if they work at the Slipper!

All of my hurricane buddies, stay safe,

Mary

Have I ever noticed that you're not very patient?

Shy Whistler Umm...no.  I've always thought you were the model of patience and decorum...IN PUBLIC!

I am proud I made it through a 50hr work week and being away from home 63hrs.

I am proud that people like me enough and think I am reliable enough to ask me to takes the runs I do even if it does wear me down. Someday I'll learn to say no but for now, I like the money baby!

I'm proud a monitor on the route I took this afternoon said I was a very good driver and a very nice person.

I am sooooooooooooooooooo tired and I am proud I am home for the weekend!!!!

LOL, Mary...your DH is a crack UP! My DH would be the same way.  I just hate to see the rebuilding, the pain of loss, fear of non-contact, geesh, you guys have putin your time this season.

Lasterday was NOT a good day mentally. I hopped up on the scale after my TOM that appeared out of nowhere was over, expecting, fully, that I would be down 2-3# from a month ago. NO, I wasn't...I am feeling all Janina-like, about ready to explode.

The GOOD news is that I did listen to TWO, count 'em messages from God on this:  the receptionist who saw my black cloud over my head when I stepped off that damnable scale shared that after her DD birth, she began to think of food differntly.  Example:  eating a dish of ice cream, she envisioned the calcium soaking in and all else falling away.

'Course, I was too pissed to let that one affect me.  So I go to one of my schools and the FIRST thing one girl says is, You know, we spend all day around here cleaning the kitchens up, all focusedon the stress, wouldn't it be nice to focus on each subtle movement as a mini-workout and begin to rejoice in our bodies changing in small ways.

Now, either the ENTIRE world is suddenly full of ****OR....I should stop here and listen?

Proud to say i will do those things with more of my being rather than being focused on results alla time. .

AND...  another AMEN!

Today I'm proud that I finished my living room

the accent wall around the fireplace a very lusty rust.. the rest ice gray.  So far I have 4 guitars on one of the ice walls........... and I'm thinking that I"ll put an old black body cutaway les paul (that still looks good) on the wall over the fireplace... maybe with some subtle music notes...  OH WHO CARES anymore.  I can decorate to MY tastes being out here in the woods rather than trying to conform..

I can imagine the fire light against that wall.

There's nothing better than the scent of pinesol and fresh paint.. everything seems so new again!  :)

Ha, dark rust is my FAVORITE color and I've had it as an accent in my homes ever since the eighties.  I even made it work when it wasn't popular.  Now you've just made me realize why.  It's a LUSTY color! ROTFL

You and I are too much alike...pinesol and fresh paint. It's A Beautiful Thing

Mary
