Looks like IKE is headed straight for us here in Houston.
I'm ready....I have water, my computer, food, flashlights, dog food for RoseBud and stuff to read.  All my food is perishable except for some chips so if I get desperate, I'll eat chips.  No worries though 'cuz if I don't have dip, I'll only eat a few.
Stay safe everyone!

Thanks Janina!  I told Mary that my laptop has a battery (that happens to suck) and I'd use it for emergencies - like to log my food. LOL

I TOLD YOU that I would drive over there and get you and bring yo' ol' tore up A$$ home with me.  But nooooooo...you have chips! Oh Jeez Now don't blame Rosebud if she's not willing to share her food cuz you was acting a fool!  At least she's prepared.  Take your ice out of the freezer and put it in an icechest and put some of your perishables in there.  What am I thinking, you can't lift anything.  Get a neighbor.  And take your icemaker out of the freezer so it doesn't melt all over everything.

Call me if you need anything,

Um, I don't know where my icechest is, Mary.  I think I might have gotten rid of it when decided to go 'minimalist'.  I know, I know, what a dumba$$ thing to do.  I'll just have to eat chips, I guess.  I'm down several pounds since PS anyway so it shouldn't be a huge deal.

Girl, take it from someone who went through two days of Gustav going through Atkins Induction...it's a lot easier just to take a day off and pass a good time! Party Time

Yep I'm sure there's lots of hurricane parties that'll be happenin'.  But this is a HUGE storm so I think it best to get boozed up before it hits and that'll lessen some of the fear.

Have you been through this before?

Well I lived much closer to Galveston than I do now when Hurricane Alicia hit in 1983.  Scared the CRAP outta me!  I thought our house would blow away but it didn't.  The worst part was suffering through days and days without electricity because it was so freakin' hot and humid!  I'm much farther inland now so hopefully it won't be as bad although I suspect the electricity will shut off.
