Hey all,
I know some of you from the PS board.  I need to drop my last 30 pounds and it ain't coming off easyi.  I've done Atkins, but not seriously.  I have more PS in November and want to get more weight off so I can then have a thigh lift this summer.
I need some help ladies!!  I would love to read your favorite meals for B/L/Supper.
I am HORRIBLE about eating breakfast and drinking enough water.  So. any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am always amazed and so proud of those who can lose it on their own without surgery!
I look forward to getting to know each of you.

WARNING: I hang with Mary and Kimmie.

My my my, what a thing to say about Kimmie when she's down!  To me that's just another way of saying youse crazee, too! Tongue Out 2

Thirty pounds...woman, you don't need to lose no thirty pounds!  But I'm witcha on having a hard time getting in tha****er.  The only time I ever get really thirsty is during and after a workout.  Hey, does coffee count? Wakka Wakka

I know you know that I do Atkins.  What kind of a plan are you planning on going on?  And don't say "Special Atkins" that you can eat cupcakes on!!!

We are a crazy trio huh!!
If there were a plan with cupcakes, I'd be on it for sure!
Yes, I do need to lose at least 30....you haven't seen my thighs in all their glory.  I swear JLO can lop 15 or so pounds off of each one and I'd be good to go.  These stinking fatty thighs have to go this summer.  I am already making plans to not teach and plan on getting a date in November after my revisions.  I am getting on the schedule early so I'll have all summer to heal.
I'm proud of you for sticking with it for 8 days.
I saw a post about 146 days abstinance....is that 146 without sugar??  My body is going into withdrawals just thinkin about that.  I need a kick start!

Well ain't nobody ever accused us of being sane!  But we have a lot of fun in our li'l nuthouse where the inmates are running the asylum!

I'll be happy to give you a good stiff kick!Kick MeYou need to be on low carb, no?  So you have a choice between real low carb, regular low carb, or no carbs at all.  So you have a choice between South Beach, Atkins, just cuttin carbs and cutting out white stuff, but it's all going to depend on how great your metabolism works.  Mine is a distant memory, so I have to stay low carb.  But since you was posing as a hooker at over four hundred pounds...I'm going to say you are slightly insulin resistant and need something in the middle at least.  Whatcha know about South Beach?

So, about  Low Carb- can you recommend ANY decent Snacks that are low carb. I am diabetic and have to watch them and I am dying right now because I can't eat anything without getting sick. I am so tired of it, I can't even tell you.

Last night I had one very small sugar cookie because it was a recipe a friend wanted me to taste. I should have stopped with a bite. I was so sick/naseous after that. I'm tired of feeling like I'm going to vomit. I cannot tell if it is because the BS are low or high.

The up side is at least I am losing because I don't feel like eating, or I cannot eat much, or, there's just nothing I can eat. :(

tonight my sugars were 79 and I felt icky so I had about 1/4 cup of rice and beans along with a very small portion of turkey tenderloin. About four bites I'm guessing. And then I started to feel too icky to finish eating. :( So I am in the room on the computer and alternating between typing, surfing and lying down cuz I feel sick.

Hey Lisa, I don't know a lot about diabetes so I'm sorry if I'm not going to be much help to you.  I do know that there is a Diabetic Forum that you can go to for a lot better answers about why you are feeling so lousy.

Have you ever tried Smucker's peanut butter?  It's basically pure ground peanuts without all of the sugar that is in other brands of peanut butter "spread".  Nuts and berries are a good low carb source of snack food and so are whole wheat crackers with cheese or cream cheese.  There is also a Recipe Forum here that has some great low carb recipes.

I hope you feel better soon,

Mary

NIce... I'd love to see a bs of only 79!!  Lately I'm waking up to 140's and that's really messing with my head after losing over 100 lbs and remaining just about NO carb!  I ditched insulin on Oct. 1, but really saw a great a1c in July (5.9).. so I feel I did the right thing..  this is just dawn phenomenon.

This is what I eat for snacks and it appears I don't get a response from it.  I am back to testing pre and post prandial while dealing with the dawn phenomenon.

eeeps.. sugar cookies aren't here... sorry  :-x

black olives - about 10
1 oz of macadamia nuts (these carbs don't touch my bs)
2 servings of Oscar Meyer shaved turkey (45 cal each serving and 1 carb each)
a slim jim!
an ounce of cheese
a cup of coffee with splenda, sugar free creamer and sugar free whipped cream (this tastes like sheer decadence)
Going wild is a sugar free ice pop.
I might fry up an egg and throw some cheese on it
a piece of celery stuffed with cream cheese <-- tis very good!
a couple of deviled egg halves ****ep the mixture and halved eggs ready to go in the fridge)
1/2 green pepper (very crunchy)

Most of the time it's black olives or me sticking my finger in the cream cheese.. lol

Hey Trix,

I was wondering when you would pop up here.  I've heard your name once or twice and never knew who you were.

My suggestion to you....eat your breakfast and drink your water. :)  hehe  Glad you decided to join us.

I love to cook!!!!

Of course the regulars on the board know my every breakfast is an amazing shake, but that's not all I eat!!!

I also smack people around who don't drink water. I actually write water schedules to be sure they're getting enough. That's a big part of maintaining your health. Unless all you want is a number on the scale, it has to be thought of as necessary action to maintain a healthy body.

Would you even THINK of neglecting to put oil in your car? Why would you not take better care of precious YOU than you do your vehicle!!!! OK, stop yelling, Mom.

I've found that high protein, high fiber meals are great for me to maintain weight loss.

Tips: Cooking without oil, adding it later as a GOOD fat, but not altered by heat into something bad for you. Cook chicken breasts in a convection table top oven, sprinkled with salt free seasoning, and when they're done, drizzle with either EVOO, or coconut oil. Have this with a ton of raw vegetables, in season, with olive oil and basalmic vinegar. You can have small amounts of whole grains on the side, although it's not really necessary.

For me, being on the run all the time, breakfast shakes just make sense. But IF I'm making a breakfast (I did that just last week; first time in about 18 months!)  it's never high carb, unhealthy food. Last week I scrambled eggs with the frozen bell pepper slices from Trader Joes, and added mushrooms. This with a slice of whole grain toast, and two low fat organic chicken sausages, was breakfast for hubby and preggers daughter. Mama had her shake... :-) Spoiled!!

If I could have plastic surgery I'd lift my face a bit. The whey protein has already lifted my boobs and skin.

I live on Atkins.  Check out http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/recipereview/  and http://genaw.com/lowcarb.

I believe you're most successful on Atkins when you stick to the rules, whether you're on induction or OWL.  So, be sure you're doing that.  READ THE BOOK if you're not.

Always be prepared, food made and ready at home, snack alternatives.

I just had crepes last night for dessert, that was awesome.  I make a mean low carb cheesecake, and my favorite recipes are fauxtatoe salad, chicken salad, white castle hamburger pie, and eggs, steak and chicken with veggies are regulars in my diet.
