OMG...COFFEE!!!
Ya'll may find this hard to believe, but guess what...I stayed on Atkins INDUCTION for all of the hurricane preparations and DURING the hurricane. I made a huge bowl of cucumber salad and was eating that all day Sunday. Even my friends, one who shall remain nameless, were telling me that cucumbers were not proper stress eating food...that I needed chocolate. Hey, maybe I'm maturing when it comes to food because it feels good not to have GAINED during a hurricane.
Bren, check in when you can.

It must have been hard to hang with induction through this.. but you're certainly the better for it.
When I lived in NJ, we'd either get outages from summer storms or winter ice.. so I'd use the gas stove to boil water and pour it through the filter by hand. LOL Here, it's the GRILL!
I'm sure that coffee tasted REAL good after being without!!
Hey you, I just got through reading your post about where you live. I'm coming to live with YOU! I'll help you finish painting the house, OK? I'm pretty good at it if I do say so masself. My husband is from Atlanta and if I said I wanted to move near you, he would be thrilled!
What a time to be stuck without a grill with a burner, no? As soon as I take the buggy to town, I'll take care of that little discrepency. This certainly cannot be allowed to happen again!

Yea.. I grew up in small apartments (Bergen County.. um.. about 15 minutes outside Manhattan).. played in the street and there was no privacy or space. Florida was ok.. huge house with pool, jacuzzi, wet bar.. yanno - but it just wasn't "me" and the homeowners associations in those deed restricted communities are just not my style. This house is smaller.. but cozy and I just LOVE the bay window off the back of the house and the porch in front and the gardens and fireplace and woods and animals. I like being able to hang some of my guitars on the wall in the living room and it WORKS and use scarves on the windows and letting the sun in cause there aren't people walking around looking in the windows. It's cool here!
I've only been to Atlanta a couple of times.. the airport.. hmm.. worse than Newark. I think it's about 3 hours from here. I'm about 40 minutes from Augusta.
Um.. Mar... what's the buggy?
Your place sounds like mine. Woods and critters everywhere. I call it my li'l shack in the woods and my Avalanche is the buggy!
There is definitely something to be said for privacy when one is sunbathing 'nekkid'!
