OT ~ Where Would You Live?
I'm THERE, babycakes!
In the middle of hurricane season 2 years ago, I took out a map and went far enough north to get out of Florida yet not into snowstorms. I went far enough inland not to be prey to hurricanes anymore but not far enough to be off the "east coast".
THIS is as close to heaven on earth as I'm ever going to find! The land has character. In the middle of 5 wooded acres, it's secluded and private yet I can still hear the horses and cows and goats in the nearby fields. In the winter we may get some ice in the morning (but no snow).... and I have to wear a sweater. In the summer we have heat, but not that sticky, rediculous Florida humidity.
Baby.. I'm SO HOME!

YES IT IS! Especially when you don't break it up...about 20ish for us from DC but its worth it when you get there. When I hit goal I am going to walk that Sydney Harbour Bridge-that my show off fit Aussie hubby has done often-right now I'd get stuck...oh heck no, I wouldn't even be able to fit into the suits you have to wear so you don't accidentally fall off as you walk up! But I'm workin on it! Pluggin, Pluggin, Pluggin :)
Its a very long flight (unless you're a nut me and loves to fly no matter how long) and its certainly not a cheap airfane especially from the East Coast--but its very worth it. Probably the best holiday you'll ever have..go in their summer (our winter) and plan to spend at least 2 weeks there...1 just wouldn't cut it. When we go visit my husbands family in Queensland, we always take a month. Its not easy to do with our schedules but each trip we stay longer and longer. Plus, I am biased, but nothing better than Australian men :) Laid back, down to earth, very dry wit & utterly sexy --so that alone can be worth the trip lol But seriously--it is so worth it, breathtakingly beautiful.
yeah I now am amazed that we made it with him living there and me here in the states when we met...but true love and all that lol but I have to admit, as much as I love the US, Australia is so appealing in so many ways. And his family is in Queensland, with the surfers and beaches right at their doorstep. They complain that its 'too cold' in the winter which is now. And I'll ask oh what is it today? And they'll say oh is a frigid 18 today (thats in C...65 in F lol) and thats their winters! And humidity? what humidity? lol arghhhhh....I dont even want to think about it now haha but Lori SC is a beautiful place too...I just love the south...but yeah, Florida is a tad bit toooooo hot and buggy for me int he summer! Maryland is actually not bad..a beautiful state (and I grew up in Chicago...ugh...all that snow! I don't miss it at all although the city is great) and we dont get the snow that they get in NYC and Boston etc. We normally get a couple inches during the winter and its gone the next day. We haven't had a bad winter in years...plus no one around here has a clue how to drive in it--thats the hard part of winter.
Hmmmmmm I'm thinking Utopia is where I am back to a size 12 and actually thinking 'oh wow, that hot chica in the mirror IS me!!!' WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO
