When temptation strikes............

My day began just as expected..   I got up around 4:00am and started doing my do.  I did some more painting, ironed Jon's clothes, did some cleaning, a few loads of laundry and made his breakfast.  I had myself a frozen beef breakfast patty (you know the kind).  I did my do, then took a break around 11:30 or so to go grocery shopping.

I leaned on the cart and started in produce....  ho hum..  The most exciting thing there was that the price of peppers went back up to a buck each, but I still have quite a few in the garden.  I have yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes and green beans in the fridge from the garden so I did a cursory walk through to grab some romaine, spinache and garlic on my way to the meat department.  I was almost out of produce when it caught my eye..............  red, and shiny, and almost assuredly filled with tender, sugary goodness.

                         ************************ THE RED PEAR********************

I walked by it slowly... not taking my eyes off of it until it was completely obstructed from view.  Jon covered his mouth so I wouldn't see him smiling.  He was probably thinking of years gone by when I'd send him on a mission to every supermarket in town to find me the PERFECT red pear.  Almost begrudgingly I continued up the meat aisle and around to dairy.

I've seen a few people mention Oh Yeah wafers on their daily menu postings, so I went down the cookie/cracker aisle to look for them to see what these things were all about.  I didn't see them but there in front of me............once more...... I was slapped in the face.............. the ultimate temptation................

             *****************PEPPERIDGE FARM CHOCOLATE CHUNK MACADAMIA*****************

I picked up the package lovingly and took a bite of this decadence with my eyes.  Jon took the package from me, scrinched his eyebrows and said "nooooooooooooooooo".  "I wasn't going to BUY them, I just wanted to HOLD them" I said to him.  As we walked on I began making a list of all the things I used to enjoy and haven't tasted in at least a year.   By the time we hit the center aisle where all the frozen burritos and white castles and other convenience foods are located, all that came to mind was the word "poison".  NO WONDER why I became what I hate!  I've spent my entire adult life poisoning myself everytime I went to the supermarket.

Needless to say.... the temptation passed............

Your so good.  It is amazing what all is out there isn't it.  It's a real shame actually, after all the reports and obesity issues, not to mention heart issues, etc.  Seems like the government would put a ban on it all, or an age limit on it all.hehe   "Want that Ben & Jerrie's, have to wait until the age of 21!"hehe  Wonder how healthy the world would be today.

As for the Oh Yeah bars, you can get them in the nutritional stores....like the GNC stores.  I almost broke down and bought some the other day.  I saw it and thought of Sherry, and now Janina! :)

Atkin's is so hard sometimes, I know.  With other diets, you can at least have A LITTLE of the WRONG FOODS.  Atkin's, it's all chemical so one **** up and you've got a mess on your hands.  Sucks, right?  I feel your pain.

The Oh Yeah! Wafer bars I buy online from either Netrition.com or Amazon.com.  They're sold in packs of 9 and I like the peanut butter ones that come in a brownish package.  They're not very sweet, but they're very carb-ish - enough to satisfy my craving for something carb-like. Six grams of carbs for two bars (they're kinda like Twix).  One a day kills a lot of cravings.  Hope you get them!
