What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?

I can't think of anything to be proud of but I sure hope the storm doesn't come this way or your way. If it heads this way, I'll be stuck at the hospital working and my surgery scheduled for next week will probably be cancelled.
Isn't it HELL to live without air conditioning in the deep south just after a hurricane, with 100% humidity and mosquitoes?! I still remember being without electricity for 12 days when Hurricane Alicia hit Galveston/Houston in 1983. I will never forget how miserable it was.
If they cancel your surgery, stand in the lobby and throw a Kim Johnson fit, saying your surgery is a priority and scream that you can't go one more day without symmetrical boobs!
Having RoseBud growl might be a nice touch, too!

Thanks for that Katrina rap...just so much to think of there, so much no one knew of.
Like you, when 911 happened, it occurred to me that I want to be a helper during a catastrophe, not a big fat lump of flesh jamming the staircase boohooing and being in the way of firefighters/cops/rescue.
It also ocurred to me, how many women (Dear God please tell me not one) that morning of 911, the last day of her life, stood looking in the mirror HATING her precious body?
Please Ladies & Gents, let's not be that way. Let us rejoice in what God has given to us, whether we have another 20# or 200#...let us be a light unto this world!
Today i am proud that I made several small acts to be healthy rather held up than One Big Dream.
"The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you don't like, and do what you'd rather not." ~Mark Twain
Thanks Neecee and very well said about 911.
When we built this house, my builder suggested that I build it coastal although it wasn't required. I'll forever thank God for him because I wasn't even aware of such a thing. We had no damage to our house, but we had people we didn't even know living in our yard in campers and tents, we have acreage, who had lost there houses. Talk about a humbling experience when a lady bought us dinner that she had cooked in her camper and brought to us cuz we had no electricity.
Small acts to be healthy are my favorite!

It's very frustrating when something major like this happens and the Lord calls me to get in there and I can't. I'm sure what I did was "something" but what people really needed after Charlie were strong arms to remove trees and perform physical labor. A group from our church went down there with chainsaws........ I couldn't join them. I went down every day after work after making a run to Wallyworld and cleaning them out of fresh fruit to bring to the aid stations, but there were so many people who couldn't get to the aid stations and my body wasn't able to get to the people. :( It's beyond frustrating.
