OT: Hurricane Gustav

Just a request for prayers for us here in the south.  This storm is heading right up our butt.

I was doing good on my eating habits and exercise, but had a very stressful week.....2 people in my life died within 2 days of each other.  And with this storm coming, and having to house my elderly, decrepid parents with potties and walkers, etc.  I'm eating comfort food (aka ice cream) galore.

Just say a short prayer for me, please.  I'm really stressing.

Thanks!

Praying for the Lord to show mercy on all those in the path of this storm.  Lord please meet all of their needs in this very difficult time.  Please alleviate their fears and show them that you are in control now and always.  I pray that your will be done, Lord,  now and always..... in Jesus' precious name.   Amen

God is with you, Bren.... He will never leave you..   Hold tight to your faith and God will show you the way in His infinite wisdom so you may give Him the glory for your protection.

Thanks, Lori!

I'm not (as much) concerned about our safety, but more of the hassle of it all, plus I'm grieving my loss at the same time.

Your prayers have certainly helped console me.

Thanks!

Oh, thank you ALL, I'm feeling much better.

Going to get my parents (25 miles away) this morning.  Then the "patience" begins.  It may take all day with the traffic of people leaving for safer ground.  They have a mandatory evacuation.

The storm is anticipated to hit land on Monday (Labor Day) afternoon/evening.  We're prepared (as much as possible) for it.

Thanks again for your prayers.  I think we'll need it.  Winds are to be 140-120 mph.....I can't imagine!  I'll keep you posted.

Ya'll enjoy the rest of your Labor Day weekend!  Have a (diet) Margarita for me.  LOL

Awwe Bren, I am so sorry that you are having to deal with all of this stress right now.  Hopefully by now you are settling down and waiting for the storm in the morning.  All of our hatches have been battened down and we've done all that we can do to prepare.

I've been stress eating too, but I made a big bowl of cucumber salad and have been eating it like crazee.  I hope you have something healthy in your hurricane supplies.

Oh, and don't forget to wash all of yo drawze before the electricity goes out!!!

Stay safe,

Mary
