Does This Happen to You?

Am I the only one this happens to?  My whole time of getting this weight off, I will lose say thirty pounds and then stop losing for a while.  If I gain weight, I can lose that relatively easy, but then stop when I get to my "set point".  After a while, then I'd start losing again.

I got to the point that I couldn't lose anymore weight at all and then I gained twelve pounds with my thigh lift, which I lost in a few months.  Now I'm back to where I always am, not losing past that point.  Why is it so easy to lose weight that has already been lost, but then you can't lose anymore?  I understand set points and plateaus but this is getting beyond frustrating!

Grrr Does this happen to anyone other than MOI???

How much do you have left to lose?  If it's like 20 lbs or less, I heard those are the most absolute EVIL pounds left.

Well, I've been sitting here kinda stewing...birds of a feather, huh?  Anyway, I'm going back on Atkins Induction on Thursday because I am going to work my way to Atkins maintenance, cuz regular low carb maintenance gave me cravings.  And I got a li'l upset thinking that here I go again and I probably won't lose one damn pound.  I'd like to lose ten.

I suppose that I should just be glad that I'm at the point that I only have ten to lose.  I remember a time that I would be thrilled to be in this position.

All pounds are evil, but you're right...the last ones are THE MOST absolute EVIL!!! Devil

Uh.. AMEN sista.. only 10 lbs to go!  WOW!

In February I weighed at the doctor at 235....it took 6 months to get from there to 205.. then ZIP.. right back up to 220.. then down to 203.. then up to 217.. then down to 205.. then UP to 222.  Can we say it's enough to make us CRAZY!!!

I wish I could tell you to just "relax" with the last 10.. but I would be the last one to practice what I preach in that area.. LMAO  The ONLY thing I've learned is that if what I'm doing isn't working..then mix it up a bit - add exercise, take it away, change it.... and what I'm doing now is what you're gonna be doing on Thursday..   staying as CLEAN as I can and as close to zero on the carbs as I can.

I'm amazed sometimes that they haven't hauled us off in white jackets.  Bugging Out  It took me six years to lose my weight.  Like I was telling Jerse, I would have plateaus for six months at a time.  And gain for no reason.  Mine was cuz of undiagnosed PCOS.

But we're determined women, no?  We'll probably be on this board when we're 96 and *****ing about our last five pounds and recommiting to Atkins Induction!!!

I have the feeling I'll be doing induction forever.  In fact, other than occasional indiscretions... this is just the way it's going to be.  If sugar free soda does this to me, I can NEVER even IMAGINE eating old favorites on a regular basis.  Ie:  half a red pear, a piece of watermelon, a chunk of Italian bread to dip in the sauce pot!  What am I saying.. no more pots of sauce at all (it's been AGES cause I tend to snitch a meatball).  LOL

Six years.. Amen.. you have the patience of a SAINT!  I go nuts on a clear cut fluid gain.. the crazy stuff like 10 lbs in 3 days even though I KNOW it'll come back off.

God BLESS ya, woman!

Girl have you tried the meatball recipe on the Atkins site.  It's made with parmesan cheese instead of bread crumbs.  A little slice of heaven I tell ya!  I've decided that if I have to do this for the rest of my life, I'm going to learn all of the variety that I can legally get away with.

Yeah, six years!  That just proves that ANYBODY can do it, we just have to learn to work around our own issues.

Set points are usually the lowest, most familiar weights either held for a long time before, reached via dieting, or your lowest adult weights.

My set point is 270.  I'm 263...still battling it.  The key is, I believe, hold strong, keep doing the do.  It will, even if it takes months, move.

Yanno Jerse, I remember getting to 265, my body just loved it there.  I had gotten to where I could workout without killing myself and it felt good.  It took me SIX MONTHS before I could get past that point.  Then the same thing happened when I got to 235.  I stayed there for six months, too.  Maybe I shouldn't be surprised that my body is doing this, cuz it took me six years to lose my weight.

Maybe I'm just the type who needs to plan on losing two pounds a YEAR!  Wow, congratulations on being past your set point.  Pretty cool!

Mary, are u not reading my last several hundred thousand posts????? I am at 185 +/- for like a YEAR now.

I need to shake it up.  Thinking of trying hardcore atkins, for as long as it lasts. I cannot get past day one right now.
