For those who 'member me....and asked....
For about four consecutive seconds I hit 168--- and I'm CLAIMIN' IT!
To answer the questions that come with that:
1) It took me 16 months, including my pre-op weight loss
2) I lost 68 pounds before surgery
3) I am 13 months post op
4) I lost 200 pounds. My BMI was 61.2-- is now 28. I'm less than half my original size.
5) I am now a size 12 in blouses, 14p in pants-- was a 36W in both.Wore a 9W shoe, now a 7.5 regular. Rings were a 9, now 6.5.
6) Bra was a 48H, is now a 36D. Surgeon's gonna shoot for a 36C, if we harvest some lard from somewhere else.
7) I feel good!
8) I didn't always feel good-- I had bad post op pain, my gallbladder out, an emergency bowel obstruction surgery (which left me with a big scar). My first six months all I had energy to do was put on pajamas and cry a lot. I have hypoparathyroidism and absorb vitamin D poorly. I am at risk to lose a lot of bone if I can't correct that.
9) My "goal" of losing 200 pounds was completely arbitrary and because I am lazy-- I wanted to be able to say "200 pounds" when people ask me what I lost because it's a round number I can remember.
10) I'm trying to go a little lower but not a lot-- I have a plastic surgeon on deck for June of 2009-- I will have a fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty (sinc I already have a big central scar), mastoplexy and lift, and massive brachioplasty. And getting the fat pads under my eyes re-filled, since I look like a zombie. I will probably lose 20+ pounds of skin.
11) If there's a secret-- and I don't think there is just one-- get to know YOUR body--- it's to eat a crapload of protein. I ate 600 cals a day until 6 months out, then 700 at 8 months, 900 at ten months, then 1000 at 13 months--- these numbers are VERY low, but might be neessary if, like me, you were super large and have a lot of weight to move...but I don't suggest it for everyone. My meals are a balance of 40% protein/ 30% fat/ 30% carbs. I don't eat rice, pasta, chips, or full fat ice cream-- otherwise everything's possible. I get in 90-110g of protein daily.
12) I don't listen to my nutritionist often--- if I had I would likely weigh 40 pounds more and feel like **** I watch other people's results and do what works best. I take far more supplements than are required (here it is again-- if you're taking a Flintstone's chewable a day, you're seriously dense. 'Nuff said.) I take 2000mg CalCitrate, vits A, B Complex ,B12,C,D,E,K (A and D in BIG doses). I stay on top of all labs and adjust where needed. I also take magnesium oxide, zinc and 3 multis every day...plus two Colace.
13) I didn't eat anything "fun" early out, but now can add in things in small amounts like NSA/FF ice cream, or a half piece of cake on a holiday. It just can't be everyday. Even on vacation I feel better and stay sated longer when I stick to my plan-- but tonight-- tonight is Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt nigt, on accounta that's what I am doing to celebrate. And while I'd like to attach my face to the nozzle, I think I'll try to stick to 3/4 cup. ;)
But as my gay friends used to say, "Enough of me talking about me...what do YOU think about me?" BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA! (Laughing all the way to the Juniors department and the frozen yogurt store!)

For anyone who thinks WLS is an "easy fix", your story certainly disproves that. You have made this a full time job and I love how focused you've been and your scientific approach. You really know your body and I have no doubt that you will approach maintenance in the same determined way.
You enjoy that frozen yogurt....you've certainly earned it! Enjoy your success....you can certainly be PROUD! You are truly an inspiration.
What do EYE think about you????? Amazing. After knowing you, I daresay you would have been an odds breaker and have done this w/o surgery. But WLS sealed this deal, and lookatchoo. Now just a lil clean up with the ps and you will be smokin hawt. Fleur de lis is exactly what I would get if wishes were fishes - that makes such a better line from what I have seen.
I think that you are such an inspiration and I miss you.
