Completely OT - Convection ovens???
Does anyone here have a convection oven or microwave?
Hubby surprised me with my birthday present (a few weeks early) of a new range and microwave. They both have this convection thing... and I have NO CLUE how they work (although I'm dying to try it out).
I've heard that you will likely burn a whole lotta stuff figuring it out... so I'm hoping to get the skinny on it, as to not torch the grocery budget..

I never use a microwave, but I love, love, love my convection oven. It really does cook faster and my secret for not burning anything is by heating the oven to ten degrees cooler than the recipe calls for. And if something is really dense, poke holes in it so the air can circulate through.

So... do you know if the convection microwave does the same things as the convection oven in the range? I'm reading through the book for the convection microwave and it says you can bake bread & stuff in it... so I'm *almost* thinking that I might just have me triple ovens!!! (the range has two ovens in it).
How freaking cool would that be a Thanksgiving! (says the girl that has dreamed of double ovens for decades and has had 1 small oven for eternity).
OMG! I literally just sho****er out my nose LOL!!!!
I spent my whole afternoon reorganizing my recipe binder (I print everything off and then store them in sheet protectors so if I get ingredients on them, it wipes off). I try at least 3 new recipes a week. If it's a keeper, it goes into my notebook.
I may have to have you out to be my guinea pig one of these days (provided you are close to me.... I don't think I ever heard if you live near Anchorage or not). I love love love cooking for people. All of my neighbors are very well fed LOL Sometimes it really sucks being a family of 3, especially when 1 of them has a list of food allergies.
