Can you recommend a healthy liquid fast?
I'm wanting to jump-start some weight loss and get some energy, as well. I have a terrible time making the right food choices. I really do know better, I just cant seem to do it. Right now, I just wan to be on liquids and maybe raw fruits and vegetables, but I'd like some ideas besides just protenis shakes. or slim-fast?
What else is out there?
HAs anyone tried anything?
No, this isn't a fad for me, I'm planning to have wls in about 2 months, and working on the exercise part, and I want to lose some weight before surg as well.
thanks, everyone!

Sorry, no. THere are options like medifast and optifast, but recommend them? No. One should not fast their weight off, IMHO. They'll lose muscle mass in the longrun and cause their metabolism to weaken. You'll lose the weight, but gain back more and very fast. And if you have an efficient metabolism (one that stores fat easily), you'll have trouble losing on so few calories.
Just google your BMR, subract no more t han 300-500 calories, and use real, "clean" (no processed food, sugars, or simple carbs). Better for you in the long run.

I hoped this would be a good place to find the info that I was looking for. Anyone else care to comment?
I have REALLY long days and just recovered from a really bad bout of food poisoning. My problem is that I leave the house @6am and don't get home until 11pm. I'm go-go-go all day and barely have time to sit and eat. I can't afford to eat out all the time anymore and am trying to actively lose weight without WLS. I also don't have access to a fridge or microwave for most of my days.
A month ago, I bought a container of slim fast and it was freaking superb. I carried it around with me with individual packets of oatmeal and bought one of those protein shaker bottles from GNC. It was FABULOUS!! Whenever I was hungry, I'd have a shake.
Because I found it so convenient, I wanted to continue with the whole 'liquid meal replacement' thing, at least until I'm done with school.
Do I have to contact my doctor and go on opti-fast or does anyone else have any suggestions.
