What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?
I'm proud because I ate pretty clean today and I hit the gym again.
I had only intended to workout enough to loosen the stiffness from yesterdays workout, but I took it to a whole new level... quite literally.... raised the incline to 24% TWICE today (did it in intervals... you know... so I wouldn't have a freaking heart attack on the dang thing!) Did a full 30 minutes and then did weight training, but had to stop when I had a few arm sets left because I seriously thought I was going to puke :(

You know what struck me as really odd Mary???? Is that back when I used to train really hard (I know most would never know it by looking at me... but I used to be a dang good athlete. I used to speed skate, extreme hill climb snowmachines, run, etc.) I would push till I threw up, but it was in the midst of MASSIVE cardio. Today's episode hit me a good 10 minutes *after* the cardio, which I found REALLY unfamiliar. I'm wondering if I just took too big of a drink or something.
I'm getting the lovely headaches right after cardio, that is an all too familiar toxin dump feeling. That will pass soon.
I have to admit... I'm much more motivated than I've been in a long time. I'm trying to avoid the scale, because it dampens my moods FAR more than anything else in this world. I can feel good, get on the scale and completely destroy my motivation. I'm honestly thinking about weighing once a month!

Stay away from that lying, evil, no good for nothin' hunk of junk! Especially when you are just now getting back into exercise. You know the drill about the muscle weight so don't let that get you down. Our healthy lifestyles have nothing to do with a number on a piece of metal. It's all about doing the right thing consistently and the results will follow.
And by the end of the month, the damned thing might even make you smile!
Mary

Mary
Amen to THAT sista!
There used to be a website that I ADORED, that would take your weights and a gazillion or so measurements and would tell you on any given week (after plunking in all that mess) how many pounds of fat you lost, how many pounds of muscle you gained, etc. So on the weeks that the scale didn't move, I would go there, put in my stuff and see it was a wash... that I HAD made progress afterall.
The website just disappeared :(
Now... I just have to convinced my 4 year old that mommy doesn't need to do her body test every day on Wii Fit like she does (which weighs you). I love Wii fit and I am SOOOO the hula hoop queen! LOL
