Doc's appt: (I want a new drug) Chantix anyone?
That's funny, my mom said the same thing. I just woke up but after I drink a few cups of coffee I'll give her a call or go over there and get the run down on how she did and when the side effects eased up. I need to give her some veggies and fruit anyway, I've noticed when I take her shopping she has only been buying junk. She also is diabetic and tends to get depressed being alone..etc. So I'll send ya an email after I visit with her.
I think you and my mom smoke close to the same amount. So hopefully she will have some kind of good news for ya. See, it sounds like youhave decreased a half a pack, that is great!!!!
Time to drink the java. hehe Ya know it just hit me..that is something else I had to give up when I quit smoking, is my coffee! That really sucked!ha Alright..it's coffee time.
Good luck with the chantix! When I was on it I got very little sleep because my dreams were like out of a horror movie! It also made me nauseated and made me feel like crap! Well I decided to go cold turkey! Well not exactly.....from a pack a day down to 2 cigs a day PERIOD! I have been completely nicotine free now for 5 days! (The 2 cig thing lasted about a week!) Now, I liked to smoke and I am not going to be an ex smoker that raises cane about those who do smoke because the addicition is so powerful! However what really got me to think about quitting is when my sister in law who is about 10 years younger was diagnosed with nodules on her lungs! (pack a day smoker) scared the be geesus out of me! Good luck! But guess what........... CONGRATS on your weight loss! To me that in itself is very impressive and almost worth a smoke lol!!!!
The lung cancer doesn't scare me much.. in fact, I'm not really that big on quitting. I've smoked since I was 11 or 12 years old.... if it's going to happen, it's already set in concrete so I'm not sweating that at all.. even though my sister just died from it and my mother died 2 years ago from it. All of my aunts have died from lung cancer and I have a cousin who's battling it right now...... I figure it's a given.
I feel the smoking is interfering in my weight loss efforts and THAT is what's making me think about it. I don't know about cold turkey.... you must be one strong woman.. lemme tell ya. I've quit some serious stuff cold turkey but the likes of which pale in comparison to the draw of the nicotine.
Congrats on your 5 days free!!! Feels good to be out of those chains.. doesn't it!!!! Maybe one day I'll be able to say the same thing!
