OMG.....Out of the 260's

Got on the scale this morning (naked of course and after peeing...TMI, I know) and it read 259.9!!  I have been trying to break the 260 mark for over 5 years and have never managed to get below 262.  I am so proud of myself...may get a rotator cuff tear from patting myself on the back.

Started Wendy Chant's "Crack the Fat-Loss Code" last Monday at 270 and managed to stick to the first week of Carb Deplete (<20g carbs/day).  Now for weeks 2, 3 and 4 carbs are slowly reintroduced in a macro-patterning cycle with some days carb up, some baseline, some carb down.  I'm anxious to see how my body reacts as I'm very carb sensitive.  Won't be weighing every day this week because there will be times when the scale will go up and I find that discouraging.  I'm very hopeful that this 8 week cycle will be the answer for me and have totally committed to sticking with it.....sounds like it could be a way of life for me.  (You never have to repeat week 1 again, thank heavens!)

Just had to share my good news.

That is awesome! I want to read the book - going to the library this week to look for it. For now, it sounds kind of complicated, but it sounds like principles i beleive in. I know my body at least likes for me to shake thngs up.

wOOt to You!!!!  I know how hard this has been for you. WTG!

Wendy Chant wrote "Crack the Fat-Loss Code"....essentially an 8 week "boot camp" (she calls it) with the first week being a Carb Deplete cycle (6 small meals, specific things at specific times, protein at each meal, <20g carb/day).  Weeks 2,3,4 are macro patterning with specified carb up, carb down and baseline days.  Weeks 5 and 6 are Accelerated Fat Loss with again more carb down and baseline days than carb up.  Week 7 and 8 are Maintenance.  Sounds very complex, but once you get down the essentials I don't think it will be that difficult.  If you repeat the 8 week cycle, you start at Week 2.....never do the Carb Deplete week again and never count carbs after week one.

The science behind it is that the body adapts to whatever "diet" you're on, and finds a way to store the fat.  This constant mixing up of what you're eating when more or less keeps the body confused so that it is forced to go back into the stores of fat for glycogen.

If you Google Crack the Fat-Loss Code it will take you to the Low Carb Friends website where there is an ongoing thread of this diet.  There are a lot of people on that forum on various weeks of the program and at the beginning of each new thread, it thoroughly explains that week's guidelines....probably the best source of what this plan is all about.  The book is also available on e books.  Very hard to find in the bookstores right now due to its popularity.

Week 2 and 3 don't show the weight losses of Week 1 naturally (and some have even gained a pound or two), but I am committed to the 8 weeks cause I believe in the science behind the program and it allows for days when you can have anything you want (without stuffing of course).  I'm gonna give it a try.
