Something I read...
I just read something and it caught my attention so I thought I would share. It went something along these lines..
If your not hungry when you sit down for your meal, that means you ate too much food at your previous meal, start eating less at meal time. ...Wendy Chant.
How many of us can honestly say we do this? I think it's an excellent idea personally. I've never thought of this before. It's simple, and makes logical sense. Although I seem to be hungry most of the time! :) But I thought this makes a good point. A lot of us are tying to eat five or six small meals a day and it's hard to balance out how much we really need.
I liked this.

Sounds like a great idea but my hunger indicator doesn't really work very well. Usually my stomach doesn't growl, I don't get headaches or the normal associated signs of hunger so what I try to do is eat every 2-3 hours to keep my metabolism going. Seems to work for me.
Like others seem to be saying, i cannot go by my hunger. I have to reason it out...how long since I last ate, what did I eat...SHOULD I feel hunger right now, etc.
I do know from many past woe's, that the less I eat at meals, the less food it takes to satisfy me. I used to eat too much alla time, now i rarely eat too much at one sitting. I go to great pains to not do that. I've known for many years that I have a hard time knwing when I am full, so I go by my intellect rather than my gut, i.e., i eat a reasonable portion of foods, bascially using ww standards, then wait before i eat much more.
I am much better off if I do not get to the *very hungry* point - i wil not eat foods that trigger me (like pizza, pasta, tomato sauce/meat) to the point of ridiculousness.
This is an interesting thing to talk about. I am fascinated by hunger and how we all deal with it.

Hmmm, I don't know about this. There are lots of times I eat, just to eat. Then there are times that even when I have eaten I am still starving. Since I had my gall bladder out, there are times that I feel like my stomache is being eat away by something with giant sharp teeth, and I have to eat something. But I too feel like we should concentrate on our hunger and not just eat because we should be. Hmmm, I think I have to watch this today and see what happens with me. Thanks Holly.
