my a1c is   5.9!  5.9!!  READ 'EM AND WEEP BABY!  NORMAL!

Unfortunately, my cholesterol is 305 and he put three exclamation points next to it with a note that we'll "discuss" it at my next visit (next week).  It's my own fault, I was delinquent in taking the crestor.  Everything I read says that medications for hypercholesterol wil inhibit weight loss and I also read that by eating this way, cholesterol should even out... so I took a shot.

Well.. one thing is certain... my blood sugar is in COMPLETE CONTROL!  Dare I say "remission"?  I know, I know.. we should never think of diabetes as "cured" because it's incurable... but I got a handle on it!  ONLY TOOK 10 freakin' years!  lol

Wow, Lori...that's GREAT!!  Quite an accomplishment all on your own.  I don't know about the cholesterol, but it depends what your total lipid profile looks like...you can discuss it with him next week.

You're sure doing something right....and it's worth all your hard work.  Pat yourself on the back for this one!!

Look.. I'm gonna be honest.. I'm feeling pretty damned superior right now!

My triglycerides right now are 169, which is 20 pts past getting away with it.... a year ago my triglycerides were over 600... there isn't even a score for this on the charts.. anything past 500 is put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye... so I think (even though the doctor will **** and moan) that I've made great strides here

Now I'm really impressed!  He better not be on you about anything with what you've done with triglycerides, sugar and all.  Can you use some Egg Beaters mixed in with your eggs and thereby decrease the # of eggs you eat....maybe that plus your other changes will help the cholesterol.

I'd like that number for my triglycerides....what a difference in just one year!!

cholesterol in food (like eggs) has a minimal impact on blood cholesterol.  It's more genetics, exercise, and weight influenced than dietary.

Well, I certainly exercise...  at least 6 days a week, most times I hit the gym twice a day and I've lost over 100 lbs.

I think that cutting down on the 2 dzn eggs I eat a week would probably help some.. lol  Some people can tolerate it, some can't.  I just gotta find what works for my own body and do it. :)

Yea.. well.. I certainly have loads of crestor on hand.   A year ago it was a lot worse.. so it didn't even out (good cholesterol is 49 which is ok but the bad is like 220 somethin') - I figured it couldn't hurt to see where I could go with it on my own.

I'm thinking that if I don't eat the skins on the chicken, but bake it coated in olive oil.. only cook eggs in olive oil or coconut oil and cut out butter completely (as well as red meat).. maybe I can just test in another 3 months and see what's what.  I'll talk to him about it, of course, but we're way past the point of having an "alarmist" attitude.  last year my cholesterol was way over 400..triglycerides were off the chart.

Today I saw a 213.4 on the scale... I just wanna get under 200 for the first time in many, many years.  I have 10 lbs to go to get to where I was a month ago...  I don't think holding up on cholesterol meds for another few months is going to extend my life even 1 day!  LOL

(I'm still feeling a tad superior here - he didn't think I could bring the numbers down unless I stayed on insulin and insisted I do, so I'm stickin' my tongue out at him when I get there).
