OK, I'm in a good place now.

Mentally that is. I've had a good week when it came to my food consumption. I also gave up caffeine this week (had a couple of bad headachy days.) I just feel better taking control of my food choices again. Its strange how sometimes it seems so easy, but it is also easy to not have control and give in to every food temptation that happens your way.
I went on a group motorcycle ride today and when we got back to the Harley dealer they had food (hotdogs and accompanying condiments, potoat chips, and soda and water. I had one hot dog and 3 waters while my buddy ate three dogs, a sh*tload of chips and 3 sodas.
Despite the somewhat unhealthy fare, I showed at least some level of portion control.
And now for a reasonably healthy dinner.

You will be assimilated, resistance is futile.
Right AWN! btw, i too did BFL when it first came out. I did not lose a damnable pound. But I did well losing inches. It just was not right for my body, I guess. Loved that workout.
Today I also had a grilled hot dog at the ballpark with gs's...no bun, mustard to dip it in.
My first meal of this day was our first tomatoes....juicy things that they are...2 pieces bacon, lettuce on small pieces toasted sourdough. Mayo, of course.....
Tonight off to a retirement party, where I know beer will be happening. I will try to dance more than drink, eat my veggies for today! Then DH and I scored free tickets to a beatles lookalike band concert....fun fun.

I've gone back and forth several times during my adult life. I guess I'm "blessed" with a fair amount of natural muscle mass genetically and from a lifetime of somewhat inconsistantly regular exercise (if that makes any sense.) But when I am not lean I am just wide and flabby.
Where some people go from fat to skinny, I go from fat to stocky and if I take it to an extreme can go from fat to lean and buff. Unfortunately, I've just been unable to ever stay there for any real length of time.

That is me, too! If anyone is familiar with this 1950's doc who classified all people into catagories: Ectomorph, Endomorph, Mesomorphic. I am a Meso/Endo, bascially muscular, but tendencies to be soft & fluffy.Ectos are naturally thin bird people. Um, not one iota in this body.
I have never taken it to the lean body level ever. It's something that would be quite a climb. I have a friend Jon who was born with a classic Sumo body - squatty, fat. He has literally changed himself into a machine. I'm not sure i would *do* that - the things I see him have to do to stay there. he tells me that when he goes off plan for even two weeks, his old body tries to morph back. i can so beleive that.

I think much of the battle is mental. I advise all of my people (sounds funny... all the people I'm coaching) to work on the mental first. Talk to yourself constantly, at first, about what you intend to do. "I am worth feeding well. I crave healthy foods. I do not want, nor do I need, sugar" all that good stuff. And approaching cleanse days I have them step it up and say "In four days I GET to do the most amazing thing for my body! I get to rid myself of poisons and impurities, and I will feel like a million bucks!"
It's such a funny thing - but works every time.
I found one hot dog I'll eat - at Trader Joe's. It's ALMOST healthy.
I'm having a rare cup of coffee this morning. It feels bad in the mouth, and worse in the gut, but the smell and the "experience" seems right on a rainy morning. When you give up something so acidic, your body starts to reject it.
Here's to your excellent health! WAY TO GO Sonny.
