Back from the dead
Hey stranger!! It was great hearing from you!! I am glad that you put what you put there at last! Silly question...bowel obstruction..are the ones having that problem the ones that are having this weight loss surgery?? I am 24 and I was thinking of having this surgery..until I started talking to some of the people who have...and then I got on this board..of the ones trying to lose it themself.. I can people on here doing it..so i KNOW that i can do it!! I have to log on here many of times through the day..it helps so much!!! Don't know what i would of done by now if I wouldnt have evern gotten on here. But I am trying this on my own..I know I can do it..and when i do it..I am helping my family too and my eating habits..Glad you put what you did!!! Great hearing from you..dont be such a stranger :)
Hey Stacey,
I'm glad you are trying to do it on your own. I was your age when I first got pregnant and spent the next 16 years as SMO. I don't know that I could have changed it back then, thinking back on my emotional state and the experiences of my life. But knowing what I know now I would have tried very very hard to do it. You have to do what you know is best. I lost all my weight in one year, 137 pounds. When I calculated it I figured I would have lost the same if I had WLS, which, by the way, I was going to have. My doctors just wouldn't get on board with me.
It has been 3years for me and I am realizing this is REALLY for life. I have adapted to many many new ways of eating and I realize that in the end it feels so much better to eat better then it does to eat crap. In the end it's really that simple!!!!
Good luck and keep doing what you are doing.
Donna

Sue,
good luck and I'm glad you are going to try to get healthier on your own before deciding if you need to take that leap. I see you have a beautiful little baby. . It's a whole heck of alot easier to raise them when you aren't too heavy to enjoy it. Sadly I didn't give myself that chance My kids were already 13 and 16 when I decided to do this. But they benefitted by being healthier and knowing more about nutrition then even their Health teachers!!!

So Dona, did you have the surgery?? I thought the way I read that - that you did not.

Hi Sue,
Well you look young!!! If that is you in the pic. No, I did not have the surgery. I did it low carb low fat starting on July 7, 2005. It's been three years now, seems like I've always been this way, weird huh?
I never control myself around my family, they hate me. My sister eats chocolate chip cookies just to try and **** me off. LOL

Hi Donna!
Glad you're doing OK. Between the stress at the FT job and now working a PT job, I don't get here often either. I've gained a couple too, and I'm finding that what I did to get it off the first time will get it off again!
Come back soon!
