OT: When was I supposed to learn to read minds?

True dat, Holly!  Sometimes they are just plain immature and unconscious. I still say acting like that is their way of controling things, cuz I note that when they want to go out and party, they sure as hell find a ride.

We have two sons, now 26 and 29. Only just now are they kind of getting a clue.

They are indignant about anyone telling them anything, yet they come running to dad for help when hey, the lights got shut off, or darn, the phone bill is too large to pay.

Of course, dad does come thru, and I say he needs to stop and let them sit there without the lights for a couple weeks. Maybe then they'd remember. I have been guilty of doing too much mommying with my youngest DD too, but at a point like when she were 20, i started getting mean with her and saying no. It worked!  But not til she was about 26 too. Such a baby.

My older daughter never did act like a dumass. She's always had a plan. Funny how kids can be so different.

My daughter stills wants hand holding and while somedays it is sooooo tempting because I am still learning to let go, I stand up, tell her what needs to be done, then say, "Go do it." It's all I can do. I'm not going to be here forever and I sure don't want her living at home the rest of her life but yeah, somedays it is hard as hell to let go but I'm doing it.

Now, if only this woman would do the same for her son but hey I can't do it for her.
