Flax seed
Found a article that I thought I'd share. Got a LiveSmart magazine today and was looking through it and this is what I found!
Flax seed..it has a nutty flavor to it...2 tablespoons of ground flax seed is a serving. One serving a day is enough to reap the benefits. Remember to drink plenty of water because flax seed can absorb approximately EIGHT times its weight in water.
TIP
Need help shedding extra pounds??
Stir a tablespoon ground flax into a beverage an hour before a meal to fill you up.
---I think when i go to the grocery store I am going to see if I can find it and get some and try putting it in a drink to see if it works!
Hope this helps someone! It was all new to me

Hi Stacey, I've been using Ground Flax seed for about 6 months, I buy it at Walgreens, I add it to my cereal or yogurt in the morning. One of the benefits is it is supposed to help lower the bad cholesterol, which was a bonus for me. Getting extra water is important so it goes through your system. I like the nutty texture and taste also. Paulette

Well ..y'know I never thought about that part but then I am never hungry, I eat 1000-1100 calories a day. Before I would have been hungry all the time so maybe that is another bonus of the flax seed. some days I use Fibersure,( it ends up clear and no taste or texture added,) in my coffee just to change it up, like if I'm not having cereal or yogurt, the thought of flax seed on my eggbeaters sounded too yuk!!! I'm in the pre-op phase for RNY but I have been doing so good with my weight loss, down 40 lbs, that I don't know whether or not I'll end up having the surgery at this point...time will tell. Paulette
Well you are doing great!!! Like you said..only time will tell....I had thought about the surgery but I am young..And I can do this on my own!! It is just eating better...not as much..and getting exercise. I want to change the way i do things..instead of having the surgery and eating the small...plus I want to benefit my kids and husband too..so we are all in this together.. :) I know that I can do this!! thank God to this site..i would have given up a long time ago if i didnt have this site to come to everyday...
