I use phendimetrazine...love it...but you are right that it does lose steam after a while. Mine are 35 mg, but many days a half does me.

I am glad I used it to shrink my stomach and gey used to eating small portions more often all day long.

I like it for especially long afternoons when i feel so hungry! It does help me think it over more.

I took it for a while myself. I really liked it but I think I took it too early in the day for me. I am/was a night snacker. It is nothing for me to go all day without eating because I can get busy enough to literally forget to eat but believe me I can make up for it by eating everything in sight at night because I become ravenous and I don't want good for me food at that point. I want eveything that is fast, easy and bad for me because my blood sugar is whacked out and I want sugar, sugar, sugar! So, by taking it early, it became even easier to go all day without eating and it felt like it wore off by the time evering came around so I still never managed to break my bad habit.

My suggestion is talk to you doctor or another doctor about upping the mg and take them closer to the time of day when you get the hungriest.

Do you know if it is a derivative of ephedrine?  Does it make your heart beat long and loud??

Both phentermine and ephedrine are stimulants and work by activating neurotransmitters in your brain. Both tend to work like adrenaline so yes, you could see increased heart rate. However, most people tolerate phentermine well and don't experience a racing heart.  Your doctor will typically have you come in for a check up 2 weeks to a month after taking it to make sure your blood pressure is in check.  Mine took me off of it as my BP went through the roof but yet I experience no racing heart. That also could be because I was an ephedrine junkie so I was pretty used to a racing heart. (Now I take large doses of caffeine. I'm an addict.) :)

Phentermine is most widely known as the second substance in the ****tail 'Fen-Phen'. You know, the ****tail that achieved amazing weight loss results at the cost of your heart valves?  Eventually made millions for mas tort lawyers. :) Phentermine is relatively safe though. If you don't suffer from high blood pressure and are in overall good health you'd be fine taking it.

have GAINED 20 lbs after being off of phentermine. It realy helped me. I had a few probs with it.

I dont have anyother medical problems besides being overweight except being sensitive to medications.

When I was on the phentermine I could only take 1/2 the dosage. It seemed to give me a restless energy boost. I would take it right before I worked out. I would stay at the workout center for 3 or four classes!   It made me very very THIRSTY!  I was basically forced to drinking my water.

After about three months I started feeling like there was something toxic in me that I couldnt get out of my system. My left side started to have a dull ache and I felt like I had been poisoned.

My dr couldnt find any reason for it so I stopped the Phentermine. It was horrible coming off of. I felt very very tired, the kind of tired where you cant move, I also had bad headaches.  After about three days of that It got better. It took me a full week to feel back to my old Pre Phentermine self.

I will tell you that I have been back on Phentermine since that time.  I have been off of Phentermine about four times. I have lost a total of 40 lbs being on it .   It seems I reach a point where my body cant take it anymore I get the same liver symptoms and I stop to give my body a rest.

If I had not been on the Phentermine I am confident I would have been over 300 pounds by now.

I do not want to continue Phentermine forever, So I spoke with my dr and they agreed the RNY was the better choice.  But for small immediate weight loss the phentermine did help.

I did get to a point where 1/2 the pill was not enough, about three weeks out. They told me to take 1/2 in the morning then 1/2 at the afternoon. That helped until about three weeks out. Then they moved me to One whole in the morning then 1/2 in the evening, about two weeks out I started getting sick. I stopped.

I am sorry this was so long, just thought I would share what I went through with It :)

Thank you so very much. We sound so similiar .......I am on hypertensive drugs, the minimum dosage and feel that when I lose some weight I won't need the meds.  And other then being obese there is nothing else wrong with me.

However, like you, tend to react to drugs the same way.   I would like to give myself a kick start  and perhaps, IF, can get the Dr. to give me the meds, will try.  Live in Canada and some of the drugs that you have in the US are not approved by our drug authority.

Thank you again.  Your post was very helpful.

I couldnt post yesterday either,

so here I am.. I do think ive lost about 3 pounds this month on the 15mg which is better than nothing. i just expected more after hearing such great things about the phentermine.

being that i have high blood pressure i will prob never get to try the full dose.

no doctors in mississippi will give it to you anyway..i truly think the phentermine in the long run would help my blood pressure problems, but as u said, when i get off of it, id prob be in trouble. because i love to eat.....

I lay in bed at night, and it hits me.. i want sugar sugar sugar. and im a diabetic.. but the cravings always win.... if anyone else has this evening time/night time snacking problem how did u do it?? i guess i just dont have enough will power.. im just really slowly killing myself eating all this junk at night since i do have diabetes...... ahhh i pray for will power! lol..

sorry this is so long, i had a bad night last night with my diet, ate not only one but two snack cakes at bedtime :(( ...

sound familiar anyone??

I take phentermine. Thats how I got to where I am today. 66 pounds gone. I take 30mg release capsules from the doctor. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Its the best thing that ever happened to me.

You have to have will power. Kinda like a battle against yourself. I battle myself all of the time. I feel so great when I win lol. Just keep on going!
