What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?

Smiley Hedge I chose today to catch up on some yard work because the Weather Channel said that it was going to be 88 with low humidity.  The Weather Channel LIED!  It's so miserable out there that I had to come back in or die of heat stroke.  And what happened to the supposedly overcast sky?  So currently it is 94 degrees and feels like 102 and sunny as hell. I'm proud I'm still alive! Mary

Weather channel almost never gets it right here. Anyway, it is storming here with a tornado warning about 10 miles to the east of us. Thank the Lord it is moving east as well. Proud? Hmmm? Does doing the grocery shopping count? That's about all I have done. Hope someone else has had a more eventful day to speak of. Beth

Now let's see.  If you went grocery shopping and you didn't eat ALL of the little samples they have out at the deli, then that's something to be damned proud of! Whatch yasself with all of that weather over there! Hurricane  Mary

No sample eating. Went to Aldi's which is SUPPOSED to be discount shopping but still leaves me wondering sometimes but I can tell ya today I got plums, nectarines and peaches for 19 cents a piece and bought like crazy cuz when Aldi's puts fruit on sale, it is because it is ripe and they don't want to lose money on bad produce next week. Also, got grapes for $1.99 for a 3# container.

Went to another store for meat because they have a huge variety with weekly 5 for $19.99 specials and the meat is really good quality. Of course, it probably helps that my cousin is the butcher, too.

So, for a family of 5, I spend about $150 a week.

Weather has passed thank the Lord but we are literally drowned out there. Water, water everywhere.

Beth

Well, now... grocery shopping is an accomplishment!  I say this mainly because I DID IT TODAY!  I even bought myself fresh cut flowers (the flowers were 50% off).. LOL    Hey..somebody's gotta buy me flowers once in a while!  :-/ Ok... so....  I only did 70 minutes cardio then just walked around.  Andrew ditched on me today and I'm so useless without a spotter (and I really wanted to work chest today).  :( I went to the grocery store straight from the gym (still soaked in sweat)  lol  Then I came home.. threw some chicken in the oven and did something to be proud of. I STRIPPED MY ASS NEKKID and went out to catch some rays.  It was like.. cloud, sun, cloud, sun... but I tried to be patient for an hour and managed to get a little darker.  Of course I had some serious Rod Stewart and Neil Young goin' on, so that helped. ALSO, I found a leather top I want from bikersden.com.. not that I'll buy it for another 40 lbs, but I found it! Ladies Leather Halter Top with Laced Front - X4 Series

When tempted with a full large bowl of sherbert I restrained. Had one tablespoon.

Had a great work out.

Sherbert...I seem to remember eating some of that years ago!  But at the time, I would never have stopped at one tablespoon so you should be proud that you could display that much discipline.  That's some good work!

I am proud that I got up and walked for an hour today in Burbank...beautiful downtown Burbank. Went down for an overnight stay - bidness.

I am proud that I did not get a ticket coming home - 80 mph

I am proud that I did eat wonderful big city food:

a.  East Indian food to freakin die for today:  1/2 large chapati (garlic and cilantro infused), 1 chicken-potato savory thing in bread + 2 ounces chicken in red curry + 1 bite lamb in spinach + 1 lentil/chick pea/cauli/potato baked  thing like mu shu.

b.  Tapas last night:  2 melt in your mouth ribs + 1/2 flatbread + cilantro aoli +  2 yucca croquettes + 2 pork empanadas, like 4 total bites.  Ok, ok, 4 big glasses of sangria. ok?

I am proud that I ate moderate portions.

Gawd, Mary, the weather channel always lies...grow up already! LOL.....
