Kriz...get on in here
Waaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzuuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppp!!? :P
Was it 2 king size or 3? I get so confused.. I normally go for 4! hehehe
Ain't much to tell about Cali really. I went to magic mountan and had a great time. That's an awesome park! I spent the night there in LA near the airport and I was a little concerned for my life. We ended up leaving LA the next day and didn't look back. (shrug) It just looked really filthy and unappealing to me so we headed to Phoenix.
Now Phoenix...that's a city I could grow to love! I absolutley LOVED driving through the desert. It was amazing! So beautiful and the heat actually felt wonderful to me. Weird eh? I really like the landscaping in Phoenix. Palm trees everywhere, 30 foot tall cacti, rosemary, joshua trees and all sorts of desert flowers just beautifully placed in harmony everywhere. The overpasses and retaining walls all had pretty desert designs in them with a hint of color. Absolutely gorgeous.
We went to vegas for a day/night and I lost $150. Thank god I have reserve! :P One night of vegas is enough for anyone I think. That's a very unique city to say the least! Got to see hoover dam and was gonna go see the Grand Canyon but just never got around to it. Majority of the time I just enjoyed getting to see my friends. (They moved to Phoenix from Charlotte.)
I managed to pull off two on-plan low carb days the whole week. The rest of the week I ate just whatever I wanted. Amazingly I only raped one butterfinger. Overall, it was a lazy, relaxed week. Not a whole lot of excitement but it was change that was much needed. Loved it! I really needed a break. I'm back now and feeling refreshed. First week back at work was wonderful.
I'll be posting some pictures on my myspace sooner or later. I'll let you guys know when I get that done. :P
Yeah, Los Angeles proper is ahem...a little seamy. It's weird...not much public transportation to speak of, and where it exists, it does not take one to beaches. Know that the city is trying to revitalize the downtown and one day soon, they will get there.
LOL...staying by the airport is rather risky. I pictured one dismal stay we had on LAX land that did not lend us much sleep we were fairly scared. Y'all - keep in mind one fantastic restaurant in LAX - right out the door from the Horizen air baggage claim area. It is like Pulp Fiction meets the Jetsons in the decor. I forget the name, but it looks like a control tower and one can sit there and watch like 8 lanes of planes landing from the same direction - wow. The food is to die for. It has been closed for remodel, but if you ever have a layover...well you can thank me after you go there!
Anyhoo, never spent time exploring Phoenix, but I have buds down there who freakin love it.
Good job staying on plan, bro! Vaca can pack on like 5#, but for me, i try harder to at least make it be worth it by choosing foods I don't always get to eat and are fantastic. DH and I are off to Vegas over labor Day - living large, too: Mandalay Bay.
