Stomach is shrinking!!!

Well after over a week of working out..and watchin my portions..I do believe my stomach is shrinking..well can't tell it by my clothes and I haven't gotten on the scale to see how much I weigh..but heres my day..I got up..and had a wheat tortilla..and put some refried beans on it and alittle bit of salsa..and had that around 10:30am.. Well i have drank water all in between..well about 2pm I was hungry..so I drank some water and I ate 2 more burritos..just like the one earlier..and a banana..and I am stuffed..I feel actually like i am going to throw up. So this is a good thing right? One of them would have been good..but these tortillas aren't that many calories..130..and the beans are 120 for 1/2 cup. So..I have done good so far today..did my 20 min ab workout..and we are having dinner with my husbands brother and his wife tonight around 6:30.  So my question: How long does it really take for your stomach to shrink and you are satisifed with smaller portions?

It usually takes mine about 4 days, but just starting out it took me like a week or so...you are probably at that point....dont over do it and eat a bunch you will regret the feeling! lol But keep up the good work!

I know what people mean now by eating 4 or 5 meals a day..small meals. when i'd hear people say that..i thought theres no darn way..Now i understand. I'll eat something..go a coupe hrs..usualy 3 or 4 and i am hungry again. Just like when i ate last around 2..and its now 5:30 I am hungry again. I just feel like i'm hungry all the time.  Over eating and having that sick feeling sucks..or when you get off the junk food and then you eat some and you feel horrible. But its such a great thing though too..it seems it only takes once or twice and my stomach is all stretched back out..but i can do this!!! Looking back and seeing that its only taking a week or i guess it might of been alittle longer..it really didnt seem that long. Now just to get through this weekend with it being the 4th and all..but i can do this..I am craving some home made salsa!!!!

well, you are doin great! I often would marvel at how dum it is to go back to overloading on food once we get to the place you describe, where a little feels like a lot. I wish you continued success n accentuating the positves with you hard work! Be a good girl this weekend.

Thanks! Like others say..I seem to be more determined now! A lot of it may be that where I work we are out during the summer..well this year I am off for just the month of July..but I am so happy..I don't much care for my job and come home miserable all the time..so I am taking this month of July and making the most of it!  And yes..it is pretty dumb that we overload ourselves..there just comes a time we put our foot down and enough is enough..food doesn't have to control our life!

I totally know what you are saying. I think a big part of it too is learning to listen to the signals your body gives you. Now you are noticing your body saying, "Whoa Stacy! Don't you think you have ate enough already." Likewise, you are also hearing it say, "Hey Stacy! How about some food down here." It's really kind of neat hearing those little voices and seeing just how little you really need to eat to be satisfied but also how often you need to eat to stay satisfied. Truly enlightening isn't it?

It is so funny that you mentioned that..because it is so true..If i don't feel that I am really hungry..I will drink some water first to see if that helps..I will give it about 15 to 20 mins and if it doesnt then I find me something to eat.  I use to be hooked on Sonic's sweet tea..well i haven't had one in probably a week..well when to get one..tried it..and it was so nasty..when i was hooked on them i didn't realize how much sugar they put in them..but when i took that first drink i realized it pretty fast and i told my husband that it was nasty..that it was loaded with sugar..So things are changing..lastnight we had dinner with my brother in law and his wife.what i had on my plate was all that I ate. I didn't go back for 2nds..as good as the food was i thought about it but didn't have the urge to really..i was satisfied..its awesome!!

At restaurants (we usually go 1-2 times a week mainly for breakfast), I have gotten into a habit of only ordering what I know I should have or immediately asking for a take home container and only leaving on my plate the amount I should eat and then I eat slower. At home,  never make enough food for seconds for anybody. What you see is what you get...Snack on fruit or veggies if you are still hungry. It works, too.  The thing I am getting at here is that when you have a little on your plate, you tend to slow down so you can make it "last". When there's alot on your plate, you tend to eat faster because you have "plenty" and you don't want to waste the food. It's weird. Our mind plays so many games on us and sometimes we don't even recognize it.  I hear one thing alot here and I think it is the key in a nutshell. We need to slow and study our behaviors and notice the games our minds play and figure out a way to win.  My games I need to win are: 1) Gee, that tasted so good. I think I'll have some more.  2) It's just a weekly treat. I'm allowed that much. 3) I paid for it. I'm gonna eat it. (Especially at buffets. EVIL EVIL EVIL places!!!!) Winning strategies: 1) If you eat it slower, you won't need more. Taste your food for once. 2) A weekly treat does not entitle you to binge. A treat is just that...A TREAT. 3) You paid for it but just how much did you really pay for. You paid for your groceries, too, but are you going to eat all of them at one sitting as well? These are just a few examples but I hope it all makes sense.  I'm proud of you Stacy and I know you are on cloud nine right now. You should be. Keep at it. It really is the dawning of a new you. Awwwe! Thank you so much Beth! I really needed that today..hasn't been a bad day just stuff going on personally. You are great!! What you said makes so much sense! I really don't do the weekly treat type thing..if i want some ice cream i will get some and take a couple bites and be done. And as far as going out to eat..I am trying not to do that much..I did grab something today cause I was with my mom and we were having to get some stuff taken care of..she wanted to stop at wendys..so we did..i just got one of their snack wraps and a ice water...no fries...no frosty!! And i am satisfied. I also stopped at the produce stand and got 2 canteloupes for Friday instead of having junk laying around..theres going to be canteloupe to snack on. I didn't buy any junk..I just feel better..Got on the scale this morning..I'm at 301..i SOO want to see it under 300..I can do it! We all can do this!! We can't let our minds play games with us. And the slowing down that you mentioned...so true!! When you have less and you know thats all you are getting..you tend to slow down and enjoy that much more!!  Again..thank you for your message..it made me smile and you made me feel good today :)

This is GREAT news because once that stomach starts shrinking, then it won't be long before the rest of you goes to shrinking.  And once you have shrunk some, then you can kick Turbo Jam's ass...instead of the other way around! Cool  Mary
