Stomach is shrinking!!!
I know what people mean now by eating 4 or 5 meals a day..small meals. when i'd hear people say that..i thought theres no darn way..Now i understand. I'll eat something..go a coupe hrs..usualy 3 or 4 and i am hungry again. Just like when i ate last around 2..and its now 5:30 I am hungry again. I just feel like i'm hungry all the time. Over eating and having that sick feeling sucks..or when you get off the junk food and then you eat some and you feel horrible. But its such a great thing though too..it seems it only takes once or twice and my stomach is all stretched back out..but i can do this!!! Looking back and seeing that its only taking a week or i guess it might of been alittle longer..it really didnt seem that long. Now just to get through this weekend with it being the 4th and all..but i can do this..I am craving some home made salsa!!!!
At restaurants (we usually go 1-2 times a week mainly for breakfast), I have gotten into a habit of only ordering what I know I should have or immediately asking for a take home container and only leaving on my plate the amount I should eat and then I eat slower. At home, never make enough food for seconds for anybody. What you see is what you get...Snack on fruit or veggies if you are still hungry. It works, too. The thing I am getting at here is that when you have a little on your plate, you tend to slow down so you can make it "last". When there's alot on your plate, you tend to eat faster because you have "plenty" and you don't want to waste the food. It's weird. Our mind plays so many games on us and sometimes we don't even recognize it. I hear one thing alot here and I think it is the key in a nutshell. We need to slow and study our behaviors and notice the games our minds play and figure out a way to win. My games I need to win are: 1) Gee, that tasted so good. I think I'll have some more. 2) It's just a weekly treat. I'm allowed that much. 3) I paid for it. I'm gonna eat it. (Especially at buffets. EVIL EVIL EVIL places!!!!) Winning strategies: 1) If you eat it slower, you won't need more. Taste your food for once. 2) A weekly treat does not entitle you to binge. A treat is just that...A TREAT. 3) You paid for it but just how much did you really pay for. You paid for your groceries, too, but are you going to eat all of them at one sitting as well? These are just a few examples but I hope it all makes sense. I'm proud of you Stacy and I know you are on cloud nine right now. You should be. Keep at it. It really is the dawning of a new you. Beth
