Hi all.  I stumbled upon this chat while searching for Wendy's book.  I too read First mag and started the diet on Tuesday.  As of this morning (day 5) I've lost three pounds.  I've never posted anywhere before, so thought this was the perfect time to try it out!  I've got 30 more pounds to lose, so it's nice to have people who understand to share the journey with!  I was able to order the book with no problem from amazon so if you're looking for it you might want to try them.   Christine

Welcome Christine, this seems to be a great group of people just waiting to lose the weight and get healthy.

I irdered my book from Amazon also but it is taking forever getting it. I folled the tracking for it and it was so weird that I live in Michigan and it was shipped from Michigan but then went to Tennessee and now heading back to Michigan. That made no sense to me.

Welcome to all the new folks!  I don't think you will be disappointed in this plan.  Update---i made it through the wedding without cheating!!!!!!!!  Of course, by the time i got to go through the line all the stuff i could eat (cucumbers/cheese etc) were gone!!!!!!!!!  I even sat at the table next to the cake, and watched it being cut and didn't eat any!  I am a cake decorator and love tasting other cakes, so this was hard for me.  It also didn't help that the groom was someone who i thought i'd marry since i was a little girl.  Sniff.  I am almost done with day 5 and i'm down about 5 pounds....little discouraged that it's not faster, but i think i've taken in a little too much salt....I don't know about anyone else, but aren't the eggs getting a little old?  I can't WAIT for the oatmeal day!!!

Take care everyone, and good luck to our new starters.  You can do it!!!!!!!!

Awesome job not cheating at the wedding!!!!!!!!!  That took tremendous willpower!!!!!! I am on day four and it is really okay, isn't it?  I keep telling myself that I can do anything for a week!!!  You only have two more days left.  You can do it.  I have been really busy (shopping) for the last couple of days, so it wasn't so bad.  I hope my book gets here soon!!!!  It is hard because I keep second guessing everything I put in my mouth--it says nothing about the amount of sodium, other than low sodium turkey, which I actually find pretty good.  I really love the turkey wrapped in the lettuce leaf.  I find the hellman's light better than the smart balance and looking at the nutrition labels, they are pretty much the same

Any tricks you are finding??

Well, as far as tricks.....I like to add chives and spinach to my egg white mixture and scramble...that was really good.  I found a spray dressing I like (Ken's Steakhouse Asian Vinegerette) that i use when i get tired of oils for my salad.  Last night we had steak and salad, and i had steamed asparagus instead of a baked potato.  I'm looking forward to my book coming so i know exactly what to eat and not.  Tomorrow is my last day of week one and i'd really like to read more before going into the 2nd week.  I may do week one again until the book comes.  I've actually felt really good so far (no 3rd day problems like some) but I eat a lot of fresh spinach and drink a lot of water, probably 10-12 glasses a day.  I'm like you, it's really not that bad, and you can do anything for one week, especially when the scale continues to go down!  I have lost 6 1/2 pounds so far (far from the 16 she talks about), but at least i'm loosing steadily.  I can't stand to be on a diet where you only loose 1-2 pounds a week.  Has to be at least 3-4 for me to stick with it.  I also think i've consumed too much salt....I also started feeling bad a few days ago and I have a sinus infection, which doesn't help b/c i get really hungry when i'm sick.  I just keep drinking water water water!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT JOB TO ALL YOU "LOSERS" on here!  Tee hee.  Keep up the great work.  I am very thankful for each and every one of your comments on here, it helps on this austentatious (sp?) journey to health.  Later peeps.

Hugs snoopy, that had to be hard to get through but I am proud of you for resisting. Cake is my downfall by far but I think when you get to the point that you really ant this weight loss, you can resist anything.

I am at the end of day seven and have been debating all day whether to have the oatmeal or wait until lunch and have a 1/2 sweet potato. Geez, I never thought I would be so excited about a sweet potato LOL.

Good luck everyone and remember the worst is only 7 days.

Sunday baseline

That should help all that are waiting for their books to get through the second week, by then hopefully we all have our books.

I am so happy that I also purchased the ebook otherwise the waiting would have drove me nuts.

The first two days of week two only add back a small carb once during the day so I had to convince myself that once I got through the seven days it was not pig out time. I had that habit whn I would do Atins induction. I would do the induction then go nuts on the carbs and have to start all over again. This time I am going to make it for 8 weeks then maintanence for 2 weeks then back to another cycle until this weight is down.

Hey Janik...

If tomorrow (Wednesday) is my first day of week 2 do I start with Week 2 wednesday, and go to the next Tuesday, or start on Monday?  I'm seriously considering staying on week one until i get the book...not sure i did everything right....
