Yea.....  weight is coming on like pennies I throw in a cup.... that easily...   I don't know what's going on.. but a week past from Saturday I was at like 203.. this morning I was 217... this is WAY too freaky.  My bs is normal, I'm not taking insulin.... I've worked out every day except yesterday but hauled a lot of heavy bags of mulch and top soil (I dont' really count that though because it doesn't keep my heart rate up and steady. B.  1/2 of a thin delmonico steak L.  Leftover chicken thigh Dinner is going to be chicken... I have a whole cut up chicken in the fridge.. so maybe a thigh. If I can't handle being hungry - I'll hit up an ounce of macadamias or something.. Just gotta KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID and see what happens.

Lori, is it possible you are dealing with water weight again? It just seems suspicious the way it is coming on so fast when you are really eating nothing more than protein.  You'll get thru this. It wasn't too long ago you were fluctuating like this so badly and you overcame it. You did it then, you can do it now. Keep faith! Beth

well you know this is not true weight  gained...now come awn! You have not been eating that much.  I don't know if you ever log your food into fitday or the like, but i think you'd be very surprised that there is no way you eat more than about 1400 cals a day...I actually think it's more like 900-1200 on your worst days! I get scared when you report this kind of gain - it is water and it ain't good to be accumulating this much. I dunno what to tell you, though, cuz you are (ahem) hard-headed and don't listen to the doctors even when people drag you there......i know God is with you and this will get worked out! And...btw...your housework, your yard work all counts.  Maybe not aerobically, but it is hardly sitting around and does help condition you.  Take it easy, Girl!

Hey guys... yanno what's burning my ass....   I've been taking 80 mg of lasix for the past week.  I have no clue how water could accumulate. I know I have to get to the doctor, but he's never been much help in the past when it comes to this weight fluctuation.  At first it was blamed on the insulin (well that's gone), then the steroids (well that's gone), then eating crap (well that's long been over), water gain from traveling (I got back to find a loss rather than a gain.. granted, not the loss it should have been but that should account for the fluid retention).  I had to miss my last appointment because I was having a hard time getting out of Iowa and wouldn't have made it to FL on time...  so tomorrow I'm calling to reschedule.  OOh.. also, gotta get to the lab in the morning. I do feel like I've been eating too much.  I didn't log in fitday the entire time I was away....  but have started to again and yea, I'm hitting like 1300 cal or better on most days lately.. that's STILL not enough to gain weight.. is it?   One time an endocrinologist told me that I'll be the type of person who could only eat 1 meal a day and in HIS words "and not even a decent meal....  maybe a salad and a yogurt".  At the time I thought he was nuts.. but maybe there's something to that. I don't know.. all I do know is that with everything else in my life that is falling apart, I NEED.. absolutely NEED to see progress in this effort. Sorry.... I'll try to keep this craziness to myself.... no sense in burdening others with my schizo tude over the weight......  it's just all consuming to me.. yanno?

oh no...don't keep it in! It is just scary on why/how this is happening. no, 1300 cals should not be enough to gain!

I think you will see progress, but man alive, not sure when! You are making progress!

Lori, Are you sure that 1300 calories is enough?  Was it Jerseygirl who had to eat more calories in order to lose weight? I don't know if you have the thyroid thing going with all of this, but my thyroid went into starvation mode and I gained weight and I had to go on thyroid medication. This weight issue is so much more complicated than it looks to me. Hang in there.  I hope you will see things stabilize and go down. Loretta

Jersey and I do things quite a bit differently than one another... so .. really they can't be compared. I'd like to believe that we're all in the same boat, but some of us are rowing in different directions. My pitfall has been the diabetes.... but I managed to work around it... and it's NOT SOMETHING I push, insist upon, or suggest that someone else do. I'm eating an extra meal tonight (which is going against the grain here).  I made a couple of whole eggs with a couple of eggwhites with cheese and split it with Jon (him getting the greater portion).  We shall see what we shall see. Got a blood test in the morning, then off to the gym as usual..  bought another flat of peppers, some begonias and a couple more perennials to put in and plan on tilling 300' of the border of the drive to put in some marigold border.  This should keep me sweating throughout the day. OH.. and my daughter is on her way HOME TONIGHT!  She's on I75 right now and should make it in by about 5:00am!  So maybe the good feeling of having her home (even if just temporary) will help.. who knows. Bless ya, woman! Lori

Lori, I realize that you and Jersey are two different people with two different approaches.  I just want to see you get control over whatever is causing the weight problems for you.  Whatever the cause of the unexpected gain, I really hope it is found and eliminated.  Things shouldn't be this complicated and difficult. I never knew there were so many factors that were connected with our weight.

I am so glad your daughter is coming in to see you.  You deserve something special like this visit.

With all that has happened in the past few months, it would be worth getting your thyroid and the cortisol checked out.  Stress can cause the cortisol response.  If the past few months didn't get that out of sync, then I don't know what would make that happen.

Please get the thyroid checked out right away.  I had gained 30 pounds in 6 weeks before mine was checked and corrected.  A simple thyroid pill daily will stop weight gain if that is the problem. Blessings, Loretta

Maaaaan, I hate those fluid fluctuations!  With me, it's caused by estrogen dominance and insulin resistance.  I pray for your sake that you eventually find out what is causing it because the havoc it can play on your psyche is beyond depressing.   Just keep plugging along with your diet because all of your weight loss is actually under all of tha****er weight.  Sweating is good. Thanks Goosh  Lemme tell ya.. I'm tryin' my very best.  If I could have handled 2 hours of cardio today, I would have done it.. (and that was after lugging bags of mulch and top soil and doing so much laundry (my daughter came home).. OH.. and cleaning out every cabinet in the house with pine sol because of these nasty ants!  I HATE ANTS.

I'm so tired of being huge...and just getting even bigger.. especially after I worked this past 100 lbs off of me. :(
