I need some help!!
Ok,. so I totally totally screwed up this weekend. BIG TIME!! Went to Texas for a family reunion. Had an amazingly awesome time. Drank waaaayyyy to much rum and coke. A LOT OF RUM AND COKE. And I guarantee you that the milestone mark on the scale last week is going to have to be reached AGAIN!!! I just need to know that I can do this and it was a set back, and I will prevail!!! GRRR!!! Lots of excercising this week. I WILL DO THIS!!! Thank you guys for all the encouragement and great words!@!!!
Hmm, doesn't sound like you screwed up sounds like you had fun with your family!
Hey, do you at least do diet coke or coke zero with your rum? That way, you can drink 2x as much. LOL
If your food intake was not too horrible on top of it all, you may be very surprised how little you gained.
Hey, let's all move along now!
Doesn't sound like to me that you messed up to bad either. You had some drinks and had fun. Its like you do it everyday. Like Neecee said you may be surprised how little you gained..if you gained at all..so don't freak take a deep breath and continue to do what you do. You will do this we all can do this.. :) But we are all in this together..and here for each other!
okay did you eat 28000 (thousand!) extra cals????? 8 pounds x 3500 calories per pound?
I highly doubt that. It is water weight, okay perhaps as much as 2# might be real.
And trust me, I know how you feel. My body acts just like that. 8# is a bit up there. For me, it's usually as much as 5# and a few go away as soon as I get back into my routine.
It sucks, it really does. But you know what to do!
Family reunion.. Texas style? Sounds like there was probably more than just eating and drinking. There was probably a lot of moving around.. increased physical activity. It could just be that it all balanced out and on top of this, you're way ahead emotionally because you had a GREAT time!! We can't give up our GREAT family times for the sake of a few calories.. oh HELL no! Really, how often does this come around .. once a year? What about the rest of the year? You don't sweat it when you've had a good eating day, so don't sweat an ocassional fun time either!!!
Next time you're having a "grrrr" moment... think about something funny that happened... wipe the negativity out of your mind.. trust me, negativity is a weight loss buster (I have lots of experience in the negativity department) LMAO.
Keep doin' the do, sweetie... you already know you WILL DO THIS! :)
God bless!

Oh my gosh Lori. That is the worst thing. It was hot, we had to walk up a hill down an hill about 1/2 mile to go from the barn to the house. Transferring food and drinks. Carrying the 30 pound baby and stroller and diaper bag up and down the hill. Rode horses, rode the 4 wheelers. Swam in the pond. did I mention it was hot and I have never seen so much sweat. We hung out by the smoker with the pigs and that was hot. Walked and walked ad walked and walked some more. That's is ok thought. I think it was all that damn fried fish I ate. Grease is bad for you. Ce la vie!! It is good. I am over it. I had a great time with great family. And we only do it every 2 years. So what I eat some crap every two years. It was so worth it. I don't know that it was a great idea to drink after I just got out of the hospital from being dehydrated last week though. Dumb me.
I don't think that I ate that many calories. That is a lot!! But let's say one day I eat more than the 1200 or so I usually eat and I don't work out. But I don't consume more than say 2200 calories, I gain. Why is that? I mean if 3500 is equal to one pound, and just to sit in a chair and breathe you burn calories. My basal whatever that is called is 2530 calories burnt a day just being. So how the hell does that work?? I am totally lost on that. It is a little frustrating to know that if I don't stay below 1200 calories a day, I gain weight. No wonder I got so huge. GRRRRR!!!!! Ok, Ok, today is a new day, nd I move on. Log it, file, it, get over it......

I am so sodium intolerant, sensitive, whatever word you want to use....I can easily put on 5lb in a day by eating a lot of high salt foods. Also the carbs do it for me....seem to just soak up all that extra fluid. Good thing is it will come off quickly too if mainly fluid. Don't forget to drink lots of water....helps flu**** all out of the system.
You had a fun weekend with family...don't focus on the negative and get right back on track. Sounds like you know how to do that!! It's the "stinkin thinkin" that gets us down.
Leah, I'll explain your phenomenon when you explain mine. LOL I go hiking, sweat my a$$ and then hardly eat due to lack of appetite afterwards and the next day I will be up 3-5# easily. Now you would think that number would go down but noooooo, mine goes up and stays up for at least 3-5 days afterward. I know it will come down and it will come down in the blink of an eye but why does it go up like that? The best I can figure is water weight. When I exercise, quite often I can feel my hands start to swell and get tight so that is my first clue but it still sucks.
I'd bet money that the majority of your gain is definitely water weight and given a few days it will go down. Relax, hun? You had fun and that counts way more than any weight gain.
